Re: the heartbreaks the mention, so far I’ve only seen like, one chimp with a bad leg get rehabilitated back to health? YMMV on that one

How long does it take to get over strep throat as an adult? Today is day 4 of illness and day 3 of antibiotics for me and I’m only like 50% better :sob: Last time I had it I was an adult, but only like 22 years old and I don’t remember it taking this long or being this painful. Is it because I’m in my late-30’s now? This is the pits and I need to hear that tomorrow I’ll be cured!

Pre-screen some Richard Attenborough (sp?)

Jack Hannah (on Saturday mornings)

Eta: Jane goodall specials

Videos of Koko rhe gorilla.

Might be a more aggressive strain, or you were a bit rundown or comprised. Strep tended to hang around for me. But I haven’t had it in forever :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:

Over the last couple of years my hair has changed such that I used to not really need to brush my hair unless I wanted it to look real nice. Now it gets super tangled overnight and it’s an ordeal to brush out, more so if I have to wait to brush it because I don’t have time to brush my hair for 20 minutes in the AM.

Is there a solution that isn’t chop it off?

This was my solution with long tangly hair - braids.

Some people do pineapple hair, which is basically a high pony on top of your head. Just as another option.

Yes to any and all of these. Also try deep conditioning sometimes

Does anyone know where I can park a chunk of money for short time for a good interest rate? I got the money from the sale of my house today. I plan to use it for a downpayment on a house that I will buy probably 6-8 months from now. I have an Ally savings account that I was planning to leave it in until then because the interest rate was around 4.5% and I didn’t think I could do much better than that for this short term. But I just saw that it has gone down to to 3.85%. Is a six-month CD and option? What would be my best option for getting the most amount of money out of this, while still needing to access it relatively soon?

I got a 7 month cd with a 5% interest rate a few months ago, but I’d guess rates are lower now.

I haven’t looked recently, but when I did look a few years ago, I needed to get a 5 year CD before the rates were better than the AmEx high yield savings account. You can also hack the HYSAs sometimes and get like $300 for opening them and putting a lot of money in it.

People refer to their “IBL” or “inner bag lady” pretty often here and on MMM. I know the meaning of it, but does anyone know the origin of the term?

I first heard it from @lhamo

Are there such things as quality fairy lights? I would prefer warm light, copper colored wire, dimmable. But I also don’t want something that’s cheap and crappy (which these seem to be by nature) and will just be junk soon after. Also there’s a risk that my cats may try to chew on them.

Artists you love who give you a sense of peace and calm, focus on moms/children/babies and/or nature. Can buy prints straight from the living artist is a bonus, but any leads welcome.
