Ours is in a month and we don’t have a registry and JUST invited some people who said they’d try to fly in, so right there with you.

I’m good at party planning and on vacation. Hit me up! @Greyweld and @Bernadette

Lol it’s only like an hour between our houses and a week between parties apparently

I love planning parties! It’s my only regret about having a small place now. How am I going to have 20 people over??

And thankfully you thought to inquire about food setup and decorations beforehand!

Don’t ask me to plan your party y’all. I just hosted a barbecue and didn’t think about getting plates and utensils until someone asked me last night.

Speaking of entertaining people! I am hosting a meeting. I currently have 27 people registered but there might wind up being a few more. It’s at 9 am and is off-site for almost all of them. I have promised them “bagels and coffee” and may also provide tea and fruit. My budget is $125.

How much food do I need? 2 dozen bagels seems skimpy but 3 dozen seems like A Lot. 2 96 oz coffee boxes seems like enough?

Part of the question is to land at whether I can afford locally owned bagels or should stick with Einstein!

If you’re getting mixed flavors, I’d go with 3 dozen to make sure that the last people grabbing one aren’t stuck with a gross flavor (looking at you cinnamon raisin!)

Mmm with cinnamon raisin cream cheese!

Depending on what the meeting is for, Einsteins will give away their end of day bagels! You can call and see if there is a day available. I have done this for events in the past. They give them to you in a trashbag.

Then spend all of the money on coffee lol.

My budget is sufficient for new bagels AND coffee

I’ll do 3 dozen. The meeting is at my location and my coworkers will be super happy to eat the leftovers. But leftover coffee is not that good and I’m still waffling over 1 vs 2 jugs of that.

Are there sites that offer the functionality of an app like cronometer but without needing to have everything saved in an account? I like to sometimes run things through that app, but every phone update it logs me out and takes forever to recover the account. And I don’t need ongoing data, just things like “am I packing enough for hiking” “I feel weird, did I eat too little today”.

Does anyone have experience with ereaders outside of kobo and kindle? Kindle died a reasonable death but kobo died after just 3 years, and is my device that connected to overdrive

2 jugs of coffee. Running out of coffee is heinous.

LOL, I meant 2 vs 3 jugs for 30. 2 is probably enough because some people bring their own or prefer tea.

I have an anti-recommendation for Nook - I only used their very old models so the newer ones may be better, but they ran a nonstandard version of Android that many apps didn’t work with, and it was kind of confusing to sideload books onto

Can someone tell me how easy it is to open an IRA if I already have a vanguard account? Like it’s a thing I know I have to do that is on my list but I definitely won’t do it until I know the degree of effort.

It’s been a few years but I recall it being super super easy to open new account types within vanguard.

So easy! Just a few steps and move some $ into the account!
