I think they look nice with the headboard the way they are.

Top left or bottome right!!!

How well do you think the paint will hold up to scuffs over time compared to the bare pine?

My inclination, with 10+ year old nightstands showing some wear, is to keep it pine and then paint them later to freshen them up. Not taking wear into consideration, though, I agree that the pine looks good next to your headboard.

I would at the very least keep part of them pine, since it looks so good with the headboard.

I’m a simple lady but I love the plain pine!

Alrighty, I won’t feel l guilty when it doesn’t actually get painted for months or years!

The headboard is maple and we have a large maple dresser across from the bed, so i feel like it might be too much plain light wood?

Eventually there will be a second dresser for my spouse but that’s not in th budget for a while longer unless a perfect thrift store find comes along.

I would happily live in one of those Scandinavian designed rooms with like 47 layers of light wood so I’m not a neutral party on that :joy::joy::joy: I will say, changing the hardware can be a fun cheap way to dress them up.

I’m team paint! Maybe leave the top and the legs pine to tie into the rest of the wood in your room. I painted my nightstands aged ago and the legs have gotten a bit beat up due to vigorous attacks by the vacuum cleaner. The rest is still looking the way it did when I first painted it and that was painting over melamine, not wood!

Need help with a short, text-worthy casual invite phrasing.

Basically how do you quickly and not awkwardly say “party is between x and y time but there’s no specific things that are arranged full group things it’s just kind of a show up whenever and eat and stay as long as you like and leave whenever you want thing”

Hey! We’ve scheduled the (theme) open house from x to y on z day, and would love to see you there. We’ll have abc to eat/drink.

Am I thinking about your party to avoid thinking about mine, who can say!!
