Thank you! This is the motivation I need to get it done this weekend. I basically am like, less than $500 over the income threshold to qualify for subsidized children’s health insurance but can get under the limit by contributing to an IRA. Def willing to put away $500 to save $500 monthly on insurance for baby.

Want us to accountability nudge you Sunday? Hmmm also I don’t remember if it’s weird about weekends.

Yes plzzz. I checked and apparently I have a rollover IRA with them and I dunno if I need another differenter IRA?:woozy_face:

Librarians out there: is there a way where, if Libby/Overdrive don’t have an ebook I’d like to read, I could purchase & donate a library copy (and then be first in line to check it out) instead of just giving money to Jeff Bezos?

It’s not quick but my library has a way to request something and I’m first in line when they purchase it in 6-8 weeks. I think they’ve gotten everything I’ve requested so far but I imagine that varies from district to district.

I don’t think you could purchase and donate a library ebook, unfortunately. They have to go through the Overdrive system (or the Hoopla system, or whatever).

As long as your rollover IRA is a traditional IRA (rolled over from a 401k like-for-like), you can continue to contribute to it as a traditional IRA, as far as I know.

We have this as well. For us it usually takes months but we’re not a huge county. But I’m first in line and they seem to always go buy stuff!

Mine too! I should request more novels

You could try asking the Friends about directed donations or something but be aware that library ebooks are REALLY expensive!

I can’t get my dishwasher the last 1/2” into the cabinet hole. Ideas?

I’m pretty sure that none of the tubes are kinked an entire 1/2” but the next step might be to unhook the plumbing and do it again :sob:

One dishwasher I’ve seen has paths under the machine for the hoses to go. look at the bottom and see if the hoses have places to be routed there.

I redid the plumbing and the drain hose, which Mr darling pointed out was in the way and it goes another 1/4” into the cabinet but still not all the way.

And the drain hose gasket is too small for the garbage disposal port it’s supposed to hook onto.

Mr darling wants to call a plumber and I am sad.

I got a promotional e-mail to open a Vanguard Cash Plus account. It looks like it’s similar to a high interest savings account, with 4.5 APY right now. Is there some catch to this that I’m not seeing? I’m currently using an AMEX high interest account for my e-fund that is at 4.0 APY, but I’m considering opening one of these accounts to take advantage of the higher interest rate…I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything and locking my money away/making it inaccessible

Hmm, this looks really interesting. The main drawback I see right now is no debit card - so presumably no ATM withdrawals. Looks like you’d need to do an ACH transfer to a “normal” checking account to actually get the money out.

It’s definitely a more complicated product than a regular savings account, but supposedly still FDIC insured.

How strict do I need to be with the every 24-hour timeline with my cats antibiotics? I hurt my back and need help giving Bowie a pill for six more days. He got the first one at 10:00 p.m. last night. I can’t ask friends to help me at 10:00 every night. If I move it up to 6:00 or 7:00, and keep it there for the rest of the week, is that still good? I can’t get through to the vet who prescribed it.

I think it would be fine. My pill dosing schedule is “when I remember it.”

Yeah, it would be fine! Just try your best to be consistent but a few hours difference for a daily pill won’t hurt him.

Sorry to hear that you hurt your back. Hope you feel better soon
