I am intrigued, and I think that if you had the right kind of material and some shoe goo, then yes.

First problem - finding an appropriate fabric. Maybe a chunk from an old jacket? Another pair of shoes from someone’s discard/free box?

Second problem - I’d want to patch it from the inside and you’d really have to wrestle it in there.

So it’s the kind of project to tackle as an experiment, but with low expectations, IMO.

I’ll wait then. These are still a workhorse shoe for me :see_no_evil: I don’t wanna risk it…

My first thought for a patch was duct tape. Simple, durable, easy, maybe I’m overly optimistic.

Ehhhh in my experience the edges would curl if it was on the inside and catch socks, which would drive my insane, plus I’d have to do very wide coverage or my toe would just punch it out of place the way it did with the upper. And I may have low standards but duct tape on the outside of my shoe is a bit much even for me

This happens to a lot of my shoes. In my experience, it doesn’t really get worse. But you could patch it (I would do both inside and outside) with black tenacious tape. Don’t get the clear kind - the black color is specifically for fabric. I’ve patched all sorts of fabrics with it and it works great. Survives all sorts of time in the washing machine too (not that you’re washing your shoes.)

Yes they’ve been stable like this for a whole year :see_no_evil::see_no_evil::see_no_evil: I keep telling myself I’ll replace them but uhhhh. I haven’t. I’ll look into that tape! Where do you buy it?

Can’t you just darn it?

How do you darn a shoe??

I was thinking the same thing. The hardest part is working the inside of the shoe. I would darn something like this by “weaving” threads across the gap, always going under the torn edge and pulling the thread up to the top (making a bunch of :infinity: With the thread in several directions).

That was my idea. A curved needle would also be your friend here.

I currently have 2 jumpsuits (1 dressy, 1 outdoorsy), 7 overalls, and an Old Navy glow in the dark skeleton onesie. It’s a personality flaw.

Or rug needles.

Are we discussing pyjama fluffy animal onesies? Halloween animal onesies? Summer rompers that look cute but slow down peeing? Formal jumpsuits?

Because the cute animal ones I endorse many many. The others I advice measuring your joy being sparked vs your risk of bathroom emergencies
