You’ve already gotten so many good comments and advice. I’m definitely on the side of put up with it because she’s giving you good care. It sucks so much, but her helping you physically is so important. Finding a good PT is basically a miracle in my experience, so it makes sense that you wouldn’t want to do anything to compromise that relationship.

Thanks for putting it that way. You could see something in me that I couldn’t see in myself until reading your comment, which is that the guilt of feeling like I should say something has been bigger than my discomfort. Or rather, that my true discomfort when she says it is less anger at her, and more anger at myself for not saying something. I like the idea of using advocacy/charitable giving as a way to make myself feel better about this and give myself “permission” to just… pretend I don’t hear it. I think that will work for me! <3 Thank you!

Very true! I think you’re right. I’ve done some meditating on this and on everyone’s comments and I’ve decided not to say anything. The impressions were too triggering for me not to mention, so I did speak up on that count, but I think it’s wisest for me to let this pass so I can continue to get her help.

Haha! I think I’ve heard something similar about contractors? That you can choose 2: fast, good, cheap. Tradeoffs! And to be fair she is timely and good- so she passes the Gaiman test!

Thanks to everyone else too. Here’s to being less bad than we used to be! :champagne:

ETA: Yep, just made the donation and then promptly burst into tears. Thank you so much @Elle I didn’t know that’s what was going on with me.

My personal tendency the past 5 years to take the nuclear option for both negative and positive feedback is not always my best decision making in my own life, I do admit, and I obviously didn’t think through any of the important variables here.

It’s also never the right choice for me in a forum discussion, and I should know better.

@ElleP I love that idea.

Idk, I can’t speak for allhat but in situations like this for me in the past, it can feel nice to have someone want to take it to the mat on me behalf. It can be validating even if ultimately not the chosen option.

Yes, the power difference in the “relationship” stifles a lot of things. And is a risk assessment you have to consider (is it worth it?).

And - I would never consider you “unaware” or “naive” @AllHat. It was worth the thought experiment on whether or how to address the issue. And not addressing is completely valid - whether or not the PT would take it badly.

The toilet in our primary bathroom is wall-mounted and we are apparently too heavy for that kind of thing. Is this a call to a plumber or some other kind of… handyman? Drywaller? I don’t know! How to fix before it comes out of the wall and becomes a bigger problem?

I have never seen a wall mounted toilet in a house before.
A general handyman guy can probably assess and tell you what kind of specialist is needed? Or fix it?

What kind of weed is this growing in my lawn? It’s kind of woody and growing in clumps. We try not to use herbicides on the lawn and I don’t really care about having a pristine monoculture, but this is unpleasant to walk on. Will it take over and kill all our grass? I’ve been hand pulling it but I’m losing the battle. This is in Vermont.

Looks like it’s something in the mint family. Feel the stems - are they squarish? If yes, mint.

That was my thought too. Rip a leaf - does it smell minty?

Oregano maybe? Crush and sniff for sure.

ETA oregano is the mint family I’m pretty sure haha so we’re all thinking similarly

I need to replace my kitchen faucet. What style should I get?

Keeping in mind the first is $38 and the other is $140.

A $38 faucet will likely crap out real fast.

Mine is similar to the second one and I really enjoy the flex spray option.

I much prefer the look of the first one to the second. I may be in the minority here.

Mine is the style of the first one  with a pull down sprayer.

I think what will “look” best with a kitchen depends on the rest of the kitchen, and if that bot isn’t important then whichever one you like the feel of better is great!
