Do you have trouble breathing it in? I really like the idea of it but every time I used it I felt like I was breathing in the particles and it made me cough, every single time.

Had a job interview on Wednesday with a Canadian company, is it expected i would send a thank you email or something ? I read a lot about it on Ask A Manager but its not something i would do in Australia.

But if its ecpected for Canadians I feel I should.

Also if I do, what do I say?

Also the interview went for over an hour, good sign or bad?

interview going over an hour is a good sign

thank you note if you felt a personal connection with the person, especially great if you have an article you could share about a topic you touched on during the conversation, but not required in my experience. maybe 30% of people I interviewed sent a followup note, though probably 50% of those I ended up hiring.

Ok thanks, by the end of the interview we were talking about good fishing spots and the cost of renting v buying in the place i would have to move to. So not sure i have relevent articles to share but I will draft a follow up and send through

Three people were interviewing me, potential future manager, manager of department i would work closely with and someone at my level, should I email all three or just the one who would be hiring me?

The one who would be hiring you

And if you have a good fishing spot you’d recommend if they ever come to your current area, or that you’d otherwise recommend, that would be a reasonable article to send too  I think I sent a hiring manager a reco for a restaurant the next time he was in San Francisco, and we were both in Toronto.

Oooh how much location info are you willing to tell us? Although obviously your field implies you’d be super far away

My bronchi and lungs are extremely sensitive to small particles and I haven’t had any issue. I usually put it on a wet cloth or sponge, and use it to clean the sink at the end of the day. :woman_shrugging:

I do have some trouble with the powdered dish detergent, mostly just when I am filling the bag. I love the hand soap but am not 100% sold on the powder- I’m not sure I save that much water using it because it’s not as sudsy and it’s hard to get a teensy weensy amount if you are are just, like, washing one cup or something.

I have it in a shaker meant for red pepper flakes  so maybe that’s why it works ok for me one dish at a time lol

Or maybe my water composition, too. It makes better suds for me than 7th generation type of liquid soap.

I’ve always seen reviews for it going all over the place from hate to love, and there’s no way it can ALL be just a preference thing. I’m starting to think it actually performs differently in different environments.

In the winter I use grove’s balsam for dish soap so maybe I’ve never used Blueland when it’s really dry?

Now I’m curious WHY it works for me lol

Yeah, this discussion is really interesting. In my case, I used the bottle that came with my “starter kit” for the powder. Each time I would dump just the tiniest amount on a wet sponge or cloth, I could feel myself breathing it in, no matter what I did to try and prevent it. It made me cough every time.

Honestly I may as well visit you in Australia if it’s that far :joy:. But it’s beautiful. You should definitely have them fly you in for an interview.

Australia would probably have better weather for your visit as well!

I will ask about a visit if I get to the next stage

I’m a bit politically dumb, is there something Congress can do? I assumed it would be up to us voters to get the right governor in for each state…

The Supreme Court said a woman’s right to choose is not Constitutionally guaranteed. The federal government can enact a law giving that right. Then it will go to the courts as some will argue the federal government is legislating something that should be left to the states (like the ACA). Then ???

Our the law (federal) is contested and goes back to the Supreme Court (eventually) to be deemed unconstitutional?

Bugger.

Yes, that’s what I meant by going back to the courts.

I have no sense of where the lines are for federal versus states right. Maybe because there are no lines, or too many (like NY state gun law case this week).
