That sounds really neat, thank you for the lead!
How come this forum can’t find the pets thread if I just type “pets” into the search bar? It always tells me there are no results. I have to write out “share your pets.”
Try “pets!”
The exclamation mark is part of the word according to the search function.
Ooh, that does it, though it’s like the fifth one down!
Now, will I be able to remember that it has an exclamation point?
Pets!
You just have to remember to be enthusiastic for the spell to work.
swish and FLICK!
Yes! The younger you pick them, the better, except for maybe a hot water bath pickle. The longer you wait, they get more fibrous and (to me) it’s a less desirable texture.
I’ve always had trouble with the search function of this site so I just use my browser history and search that, wayyyy faster.
the talk of where and how face washing is done in the skincare thread sent me over here to ask – the washcloths i use for oil cleansing are starting to smell like old popcorn, even after being washed in hot water. anything i can do to make them smell fresh again? (we use unscented detergent.)
Yes! Laundry stripping.
Good golly you look great today! Is that a new hairdo? Why yes, I am about to ask for something. I’m looking for cleaning product recs (wood, glass, etc.) that are like, slightly more natural BUT they have to still kill germs and stuff or DH won’t even try them (that’s why no “just vinegar” mixes). I don’t think he’s willing to make it himself, either, and he’s chief cleaner so he’s boss on this one. Hit me with your faves!
Method has some anti-bacterial cleaners.
So… I’m boring and use dish soap and/or F10 (a disinfectant that’s wildly effective but also so safe I can use it around my bird without rinsing) for pretty much everything.
ETA I also have some concentrates from Grove for when I want a yummy smell while I’m cleaning because I sure did grow up in the time of clean=heavily fragranced
I kill germs with benefect but it’s mainly a germ killer not so much a cleaner
I’m no help, I mostly just use vinegar.
I mostly use Blueland tablets. As a lazy/busy person in a small house I like buying in bulk but not taking up tons of storage space, they use coloring that fools me into thinking bathroom & surface cleaners are actually different, and they’re cheaper than most of the natural-ish options. If DH must have a bottle that says “disinfecting” on it, I find the smell of Seventh Generation tolerable. Just looked up F10 and it sounds perfect!
I use very dilute bleach almost exclusively for disinfecting. Mix 10:1 and you don’t have to rinse. Soap or alcohol for grease, ammonia for glass.
We use Simple Green. Nontoxic, biodegradable.
I like Blueland a lot! They’re my go to brand for most everything. I especially love their dishwashing powder.
