I do almost every day right now :joy: gotta get different chocolate chips, but I know my Costco has some dairy free ones. I love that recipe so much haha.

Then maybe make different flavors to give yourself some variety? Ginger and dried pineapple or cranberries, apple cinnamon, etc?

We eat a lot of the dried fruit and veggies (carrots, broccoli, beets, berries, bananas, etc.). They’re the freeze dried ones that are crunchy!

We have to run errands at a mall this weekend. Is it likely to be more crowded on Monday (Presidents’ Day) or Sunday? Not everyone has Monday off but there are a lot of federal employees in this area.

Thought I’d ask opinions about this before I rip my living room apart and try it.

I recently gave away my very plush but very ugly living room rug and found a much more attractive, but thinner rug on Buy Nothing. The rug is roughly 8x10.
Can I use a slightly smaller blanket or something to operate as a “rug pad” under this rug since it’s pretty heavy and should hold it down without a lot of slippage? Rug pads are very expensive and I’m searching for a solution to make it just slightly softer for my old pup (and my own aging feets).

What do y’all think?

Thx!

In my experience nothing will work except a rug pad. I eventually had to get one because Doggo made the rug move, and even the cats did with their spazzy running (and it is a pretty heavy rug). However, I found them for sale at 50% off the normal retail price at one of these places: TJMAXX, Home Goods, Tuesday Morning, so I think it was around $10 for 8x10 (might have been 5x7, which I think is the next size down). (I think it was Home Goods, but all 3 are together in the corner of a little plaza, so I can’t remember.) It has been a million percent worth it because the rug no longer moves when I vacuum it either, which was very annoying.

Probably Monday will be quieter.

Thanks. It doesn’t slide at all, I’m just looking for a little cushion. hmmmm

Oh, hm, I would think putting a slippery blanket under it might make it though. Can you test it out? Don’t cut the blanket or anything, just put it under and see what happens?

Oh - I just realized the rug pad I am talking about isn’t thick though, it’s a mesh type thing. It doesn’t add cushioning, so that doesn’t really help I guess.

I think it will be less crowded on Monday, even with the holiday.

If you do end up looking at rug pads Ikea’s are the cheapest I’ve seen in my area:

I have a free trial of Kindle Unlimited. Is it true that only SOME books are free to read with this? Like I looked one up and it does not say “kindle unlimited”, it has a kindle price. It is not a problem for my trial of course, but If I was actually paying for it, I feel like I would want all the books to be available.

Yup, only some books are available through Kindle Unlimited. The “unlimited” part is they don’t cap how many books you can read in a certain time period.

Ah. Thanks!

No problem! I’m glad you asked, because I discovered I also have a free trial of it available and I’m totally using it

Are we going to do a March frugality challenge? Because I need to do one.

I find the selection on Kindle Unlimited very hit or miss. If you find any really good books on there, please share what they are! I got myself a 3 month subscription for a few bucks during a promotion and have run out of patience with the quality of books I’m finding.

I’ve never even bothered trying it because almost everyone I know has not liked it. But a lot depends on how flexible people are as a reader. I really only like pretty specific genres and authors.

Hey thanks for this – I ended up ordering one!!

I am definitely reading books there that I wouldn’t pay to read, but for free, my standards drop a bit. I have also quit some books without finishing them.
