Maybe if you log off and log back on you can reset and try deleting again (just a guess).

Now that I understand it, can you delete your post? I guess it wasn’t too smart of me to try to ask how to delete my pics for privacy reasons while asking for specifics on how to find my exact pictures.

Ok this is wrecking my head and I have to know. Did people really still send telegrams in the 1980s??? I’m watching Murder She Wrote and they occasionally reference telegrams. Idk why but I NEED TO KNOW.

I’ve never seen any of them, but I always assumed they were set in an earlier time period. Although now that I think about it I might be confusing it with Miss Marple.

Apparently enough were being sent in the 80’s that the NYT had a headline in 87 about their waning. She’s usually sending/receiving telegrams from her cousin in England, I think, so maybe more common for international things when telephone would have been too costly? Also a nod to Cabot Cove’s relative isolation in up-state Maine?

International postage was high (I know I sent letters on onionskin paper in the 80s to save weight), and calls were unbelievably high, so it seems quite possible. I never sent a telegram, but I knew they existed.

Here there were legal requirements for notifications connected to name changes, estate issues, etc. That had to be done a certain way. Telegrams legally required into the 90’s. Now a notice has to be published in the provincial gazette. Which closed in the early '00s. So to avoid the hassle of updating many laws and regs the government “publishes” like one copy a quarter of a “gazette” to meet the letter of the law.
