I just add those cards to my target or Amazon accounts so any purchases there pull from the gift card before my normal credit card.

Gas for vehicle, and clothing that needs replacing? Always fun to pick up some new needed things and as a bonus not have to put any of your own cash out for it.

Where to donate fabric yardage for sewing? I need to declutter this, am not inspired to try to sell on ebay, and can’t even easily access a Goodwill donation drop.

I know there are sewists here, maybe you need practice/prototype fabric or are connected to a social group or friends who could use this? I am willing to just Flat Rate USPS mail this to someone who wants free fabric so I can be done with it.

DM me and I can send you pics of the patterns and fabric types. I have knits, satin, cotton, tulle.

Ok so I checked the balances on the cards and it turns out I only have about 1/4 of the problem I thought I had. The new problem is that I have 4 gift cards with between $1-$5 dollars on them.

If you buy from Amazon you can just load the exact amounts to your gift card balance!

OK so I’m going to my workplace’s office for the very first time next week. Workplace is very casual - it’s a tech company where shorts, t-shirts, crocs apparently are common. Do you think (black, not see through) leggings would be acceptable as pants? I would pair with a nice-ish shirt

Depends on the length of the shirt.

That should be fine, with this in mind

Yep, especially with a nice tunic and boots.

I am going to attempt making smoothies for the first time, some recipes include greek yogurt which I have never bought before and will not eat plain. Even the small container is larger than the smoothie recipes call for. I assume it keeps in the ref for a few days after opened? Should I transfer it to a covered container to keep it fresher since it is the single serving foil top container?

We keep Greek yogurt open for weeeeeks in the fridge. It’s fermented. Don’t contaminate and all it’ll do is get more fermented, lol.

Oh just saw this part. Yes absolutely cover somehow. Use clean hands and clean spoon to do so if it goes into a new container.

I always wonder if you can tell if greek yogurt has gone bad? I think I’ve had one of those giant Costco greek yogurts open for a month at one point, and it still tasted fine…I wonder what the limit is, haha

I refuse to admit in a public forum how long I’ve left Greek yogurt in my fridge and still eaten it. :joy: But suffice to say, it will just get more tart, unless you have mold spores from something else floating around and it gets contaminated. And then it will visibly grow mold. Don’t eat it then.

Think other fermented foods, how long does sauerkraut, kimchi, etc. last in the fridge? That’s literally the point of food fermentation. :woman_shrugging: I’m a little more cautious with fruit and sweetened varieties, but just plain real fermented Greek yogurt? it can hang out there until there’s an archaeological dig of my refrigerator as far as I’m concerned.

Obviously with bulk containers you wanna leave them clean, never eat directly out of the container or anything like that.

ETA The reason sometimes yogurt stays in our fridge long time is that when it goes on a really good sale and it’s smoothie season I’ll buy a bunch of our preferred brand and just stick it in the back and go through it as we go through it.

ETA2: Second caveat being we only buy whole milk yogurt. I have no idea if it’s different with skimmed varieties.

I’ve had ours get less tasty (hard to describe…just, felt like the texture changed and the taste got milder?) but that was a month past the sell by date. We tossed it but it didn’t make anyone sick.

Otherwise, yeah, I’ve only had it mold if the container is improperly sealed / otherwise contaminated.

One time I left vegan yogurt mixed with chopped strawberries in the work fridge for weeks. It was definitely more fermented when I took it out. I did not eat it.

Does anyone know how I find posts where I uploaded pictures? If so please ELI5 because searches are not intuitive for my particular brain.

Thank you. Unfortunately I keep getting errors telling me to wait 23 hours before deleting posts with pics. This is very frustrating.
