Does the inside of the drum feel hot after you’ve run it?

Oh and two more-
How wet are the clothes going in? Could this be a washer spin issue actually and not a dryer one?
Any chance you’re overloading it? Does it dry a small load well?

Would you consider a drying rack?
I use my dryer on the air dry cycle to knock down wrinkles and cat fur for about 10 minutes, then hang everything to dry since the air is so dry here. Even in the winter, everything including bike shorts is dry within 24 hours or less, much faster this time of year.

Does anybody have a recommendation for an ergonomic computer mouse? I’m getting a lot of pain at the base of my thumb on the mouse hand, which is made worse by typing and using the mouse.

I had a lot of success with a vertical mouse. Example:

Hmm, this is very intriguing.
The reviews mention it breaks in less than a year, what’s your experience been with longevity?

I have one like that, but corded. I like it very much and it’s been kind on my hands.

The cheapest/easiest thing I’ve done is to train my brain to use my mouse in either hand (without re-configuring the buttons). I always start the day with my non-dominant hand and somehow it always makes it back to my dominant hand. Whenever I notice that it’s switched, I move it back to my non-dominant hand. I have repetitive stress injuries in my wrists from too much computer-based work and have tried at least 6 different mice and 4-5 different keyboards and honestly this makes the most difference.

That’s not exactly the one I have; I have a wired one, . I used it for maybe a year? Then I tore up the shoulder on that side in a fall and was under doctor’s orders to mouse with the left hand. The vertical mouse is right-handed only. Hang on, I’ll find the one I have - it definitely doesn’t mind getting dropped on the floor multiple times.

Hmm, apparently I didn’t order it from Amazon. I think it’s a Logitech?
Be aware if you have a keyboard tray or drawer that these are usually too tall (see dropping on the floor - that was usually me forgetting and shoving the tray in). Sorry I can’t find the order - all the words are worn off the surface of the thing itself, too.

I have played with this, and generally just end up with pain in both hands. I’d like to find a pain-free solution if one exists. I’m back to using Voice to Text dictation to do a lot of my typing, and even with that I’m still having some issues.

@rural I have used the Logitech brand before and generally been happy with their products. It looks like my local office supply store carries one. I may stop by today and test it out before I buy one.

Thanks to everyone who responded with recommendations!

I’ve had some wrist issues and have had good luck with a trackball mouse (also logitech), but depending on the source of pain that might just make things worse.

Makes sense. I’ll second Kenner’s trackball suggestion then. The vertical mice (I’ve tried 3) all made the base of my thumb pain worse but people are so individual so I hope you find something that works for you!

For trackball options, my husband uses both of these (on different computers) and has not managed to break them in several years, which is miraculous.

What’s this caterpillar beastie that’s eating my roses?

Picture

It seems to be eating the leaf wholesale, so I guess it’s not the same thing that fills the leaves with holes every year…

I think it is a rose sawfly larva…

My department at work wants all of us to take the 16 Personalities test so we can “get to know each other better”. I’ve taken it before and gotten 4 or 5 different answers, because I feel ambivalent about enough of the questions that I’m very in the middle. Is there a better way to take these sort of tests?

I think when I took a basic enneagram test it gave a solid answer, so I don’t know if it’s just the way the questions are asked or what.

ETA - I just took the test. Apparently today I’m “The Mediator”, INFP-T. I’m 16%/84% E/I (that’s consistent, haha), 59%/41% I/O, 44/%/56% T/F, 47%/53% JP, and 49%/51% A/T

I’m similar - strong on 1-2 of the letters but either way on most of the others. I really dislike personality tests for the most part so reductive. The main thing that I think is important for workplaces to know about their teams is their best learning and communication styles.

Is there a good reusable version of a t shirt bag? I want something really thin and flexible and have tried reusable “ziplock” bags but they are way too thick and stiff.
