Disclaimer: I might be totally wrong on this but I saw this same effect a lot when I worked selling jewelry, where an outline would appear underneath someone’s ring or cuff. In that world, it’s often because a combination of skincare products and dirt (not like you’re dirty, but just everyday dirt) get under the edge of the thing and start rubbing against the skin. The rubbing isn’t irritating enough to notice, but when you remove the jewelry/bandaid there’s a red outline. It could be that you’re sweating more now and that’s exacerbating it, because usually this happens more in the summer. It happens to me with my engagement ring in hot months. IDK if that’s at all helpful.

I think that sounds like it’s pretty case by case. Hard to say if it’s you or them

This conversation inspired me to do a deep dive on the origin of “Bitch, please” (and now I haven’t gotten anything done today - but I know even more about misogyny in hip hop & counters to it!).

The popularization of the re-appropriation of “bitch” seems to have roots in both queer and Black culture (and correspondingly - intersectionally too).

So of course some straight cis white dudes think this means they now get to call women “bitches” carte blanche.

I read that this is going to be another bad wildfire season in California and people should buy masks. Is there somewhere I can donate to help homeless people/migrant workers acquire masks?

Recs for vacuums? Need small (so skinny stick or even handheld mini) and preferably cordless. Definitely under $200 but I’ll pay over $100 if it’s really good. There’s a lot of memorial day price cuts rn so I’m :eyes: but don’t want to needlessly waste money for flash, or waste on something cheap and useless

I have this vacuum and really like it.

ETA: If you search third-party retailers you can get it cheaper.

I like how you can miniaturize it to clean furniture. I was looking at a similar price one from Hoover. Thanks!

Tips for doing take out sushi from a nice restaurant? I’ve only had it either sit down inside or from a grocery store, would it help to get an icepack or does it matter? I haven’t had sushi in probably 2 years …

If you are going to be travelling more than 10 minutes, I would do a cooler with ice pack just because it’s been SO hot.

I find it works best to devour as soon as you get home. And the sushi boats seem to work very well

Oh it’s definitely getting devoured on the way home. Mmm sushi.

I can rec Puente as a farmworker-focused org that helped a ton last year during the fires.

Which is worse, having stinky underarms or stinky feet?

Underarms are closer to other people.

And your own nose.

Stinky feet outside of their shoes tend to smell up an entire space more than stinky pits do

More OTC solutions to stinky underarms, fewer options for feet?

I can highly recommend this product for stinky feet. My feet had the worst stank but within a couple weeks my shoes stopped smelling stinky. It’s basically skow-release chlorine bound in clay pellets.

I am going to ignore every other response, because clearly the correct answer is that my stinky pits are less obnoxious than my partner’s stinky feet.
