I am also curious about this because I have a folding bed/couch that is not comfortable as a bed nor a couch. Is there any kind of mattress topper or something that can make it not awful when guests stay over??
My mom had a pullout sofa that was terrible to sleep on. I got one of those foam things that look like egg crates which helped a lot. It was thin enough that I could leave it on and still fold it up.
We have this in our guest room. My super picky parents have said the mattress is very comfortable. My in-laws have also said it’s nice. They’ve stayed on it for a week. I thought it was fine for a nap but have never stayed on it longer.
One thing we made sure before we bought it is that these foldable mattresses were something we could buy to replace in 10 years if it wears down.
We have a sactional from the company that makes lovesacs and they can easily be rearranged into a bed. Very comfortable.
I’ve also had a comfortable wood frame futon in the loveseat direction (folds are horizontal instead of vertical). It was amazing.
yes that was my understanding as well, but then in the snippit of the interview I saw it was said like the royal family wouldnt let Archie take a royal title and wouldnt offer him security protection. Not that it has been Meghan and Harry choice
We’ve put an air bed on top of a fold out sleeper sofa. It’s much easier to get up and down than an air bed on the floor, and much more comfortable than the sleeper sofa.
Sometimes memory foam toppers compress enough to just fold right up along with a sleeper sofa or fold out bed. : )
My old workplace (that I left last year) wants me back and has offered me a job about 2 levels above old job there, and one level above new job at current company.
I haven’t got full details of the job but old manager wants to organise a meeting to discuss. Should I go?
I don’t like my current job, but I am not sure I am capable of potential new job, so may be a waste of everyones time. Also worried potential new job is only being offered to me because of some kind of diversity thing and that I will fail and let everyone down and make it harder for other people like me to get offers like this in the future
I think you should go. If they’ve asked you, they think you can do it. Any chance you’re experiencing a bit of imposter syndrome?
I think you are more than capable of the new job. It can’t hurt to attend the meeting at least, to see if you want to work for that company again.
OK, now does anybody have any idea why handheld OXO can openers on Amazon can’t be delivered to a post office box? If it’s not one thing, it’s another.
maybe? but also everyone else in a similar role would have some kind of qualification that I do not have
Thanks, some of the stuff the company has been doing recently has been kinda positive, but I also get that I am getting the sales pitch version of it whenever they call me up to offer me jobs, so I am not too sure.
Does anyone watch the Youtube creator For Harriet? I’ve been wtching her a lot lately and she just addressed the Megan/Harry/Oprah interview (pops popcorn)
ooo I watched like 15 minutes (thanks for linking) but I think my attentions pan is too short for the 1 hour + this is.
will watch after work
her episode on the newest Free Britney doc (the NYTimes one on Hulu) was also SO good
Hard call. I have a friend of a friend getting a job in a community consultation type role, apparently they’re hiring a few at the moment for obvious reasons. I agree with the others, though, that a good first step is to go to the interview and find out what they’re offering, at least, including support to help you grow into the role.
There would be plenty of support in the role, potentially do an MBA and there is a whole team being set up to assist Indigenous people in professional roles.
Part of my concern is being Indigenous female and doing a not very good job and then confirming some peoples sexist/racist views and ruining things for other women or Indigenous people with my uselessness
What were your reasons for leaving old workplace? Will they be resolved in the new position? If you didn’t like the culture of the company, that is unlikely to have changed.
I do not believe they would offer you a job they expect you to fail at. If it’s being offered, it’s because you have the skills to do it.
If they only wanted an indigenous staff member, they’d just pay you a ton to take on a low level work or put you in a token position on the sidelines. So this seems like a good opportunity.
But if it’s a toxic place that you truly think they’d set you up for failure, don’t go back.
Is there some magical tool in Excel to take formatting from one workbook and apply it to a new workbook? Basically I want a mega-format painter. I’m trying to figure out if I can just make Excel do the thing instead of me doing a twenty step formatting process a couple times a month.
Difficulty: the header is six rows, not just one. From from seven down is Arial 9 except for one column that is Arial 8. Things like that.
