Having just reinstalled a bunch of apps as part of a phone transfer, non-obnoxious ads on free apps is what I have most of. I’ve paid for … maybe five apps ever? And a couple of those I used for years before sending the person who made it some money, and it was just to support that person, not to get a nicer version of the app or anything.

When I say non-obnoxious ads, on my version of Bejeweled (or whatever this particular one is called) it occasionally has thirty second ads to go from the main menu to the game and I just deal with it since there’s a count down. There was a sudoku app I used to have that would randomly have an ad almost right as it opened but since it didn’t do that every time I’d just close the app and reopen it because that was quicker than waiting for the thirty seconds. Ads are fine, I have no idea how much it earns the app makers but it’s more than if they were just relying on me to pay them.

What is the correct product to make my hair temporarily as pink as possible without bleaching it?

This is my hair color in right now. It does get lighter in the summer but I’m thinking of dying it when it is definitely not summer.

Yay pink hair!

I don’t have a real answer, but I just did some super pink highlights for the first time and I LOVE THEM. I’ve never dyed my hair before, so it’s a big change, but it’s awesome

How long do you want it to be pink? Hair chalk* will do it, but it’s one day only (and you’ll need to condition afterward).

*Hair chalk is any chalk, but they sell it in convenient applicators at a markup for hair. You can just buy pink chalk and rub it on wet hair. If you know you want a lot, you can get snap line chalk (which is dust) at a hardware store. Dewalt’s red would come out really dark pink on your hair, I think.

A month minimum, 3 months max. A day doesn’t seem like spending much money on, especially since I’m gonna be lazy with reapplication.

Ah, you want a semipermanent dye then. Manic Panic will take on hair your color but won’t be as vibrant as you might prefer. My current purple is manic panic on grey hair.

Thank you! I’ll give it a shot

Now… anyone got tutorials on how to do this for long hair without basically dying my face pink?

Brad Mondo. Go check out his videos on hair dyeing.

Also his reaction videos to hair bleach disasters are amazing.

A little alcohol on a cotton ball will take enough dark purple Manic Panic off your face that your students won’t notice in virtual class a half hour after you rinse everything out.

Or so I’ve heard.

I just noticed your timeline - a month is the longest you can hope for with Manic Panic, and it’ll fade some over that time.

Seconding alcohol, and/or nail polish remover on surfaces.

Using Vaseline as a protectant on your hairline and your ears will help, too.

Also, my suggestion is to go for a darker, more vibrant pink. Light pinks/blues/etc don’t take up nearly as well – go for something that’s really bright if you want to make sure it really takes. I used to use Special Effects Atomic Pink and that was nicely vibrant, whereas the couple of times I saw someone use Cupcake Pink it was sometimes a very anemic color.

I’m okay with it lasting only a month with fading. I think the husband would appreciate the short duration as he is uncertain about this whole neon hair experiment.

I just don’t want it to be like, a day.

I have friends who have had good results with using Overtone conditioners to semi permanently dye their hair.

I’ve used overtone before and it just didn’t seem to do great and also was $$$.

However, I also suck at putting dye in my hair so there’s that.

I wash mine out in the stainless sink which removes any tub-staining worries. I also mostly gob it on there with my (gloved) hands and massage through rather than trying to paint it on like a pro.

I second gobbing. You really gotta get that ish in there.

Is Larry normally short for Lawrence? Or just this one dude we’re dealing with right now? I always assumed Larry was a stand alone name.

My dad and his twin brother are Harry and Larry

So both?
