@Oro I do City Fit Girls strength club and love it. It is aimed at you having dumbbells, and resistance bands, but you could absolutely use household items instead, and I know that some users do. Takia (the CFG founder most involved with strength club) is a friend and former coworker, so PM me if you want an introduction: she’d definitely be open to chatting about whether it’s a good fit. Also, even if you don’t sign up for strength club, I would recommend the CFG free weekly newsletter, which is great and always includes links to a few free workouts, which are generally no/low equipment!

Thank you!! I am having a bit of a hang up with the name but that’s a me thing  I’m sure I’m not the only “not girl” to do it!

I feel that. I would maybe check out the website and newsletter to see if it feels right. I have personally never had the sense the creators mean to be gender essentialist, and I personally know a non-binary person who does the program and is good friends with the creators, but due to their own identities I have the sense they are more intentional about race than gender, and there may be elements beyond the name that feel exclusionary that I might miss.

I will do that! Thanks :))))

I was also curious if you could subscribe if you are not woman-identifying gender. It looks like the movements and support I’d be interested in joining for, and I’m always looking for Black woman owned businesses I can support if I’m paying for something.

I am happy to shoot a message over and ask if it would be helpful! The language on their website indicates they are definitely trans women inclusive but does use women and girls as terms pretty much exclusively. I am pretty confident they would welcome anyone who does not identify as male, but I do not know how included you would feel.

I appreciate it if you could ask. I identify as both male and queer. I wouldn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable if their goal is to have a woman and non-binary exclusive space.

Thanks for this Rec! I’ve been testing obé and peloton and decided to try momma strong today and so far I’m really liking it. I like the others too but I really like the additional emphasis on understanding and activating my body and the way it all I cluses pelvic floor stuff.

I can ask. They are definitely queer accepting. I know they have asked male-identifying people not to attend their in-person group runs back when that was a thing, but men were allowed to participate in their virtual race this fall, so it likely depends on the situation. I will report back!

Does anyone have any favorite resources for learning how to cut your own hair (YouTube videos, etc?)

My hair is a bit past my shoulders, wavy/curly, and hasn’t been cut in a year. The bottom is looking kind of ragged and has split ends (especially noticeable if I wear it straight). Salons are open here but since I’m basically looking for “just cut an inch off the bottom” it seems like I should be able to do that myself. I did buy some hair cutting scissors already.

Update for @FIFoFum, @Oro and anyone else interested in City Fit Girls. They are actually currently working on updating and clarifying their language around gender inclusion, but the upshot is anyone is welcome, just don’t do stereotypical pushy cis man in fitness spaces things! The Strength Club intake form should have options for male, female, or non binary participants.

I got a Chia Pet for Christmas. If I clean it and use chia seeds intended for food use (I know the ones included in the package are not necessarily safe), can I eat the sprouts?

How tf do I stop our cat from peeing everywhere upstairs, without locking him in our garage? Ew. I don’t want a litter box in our carpeted closet in the en suite, but that’s where this is heading.

If you owned two pairs of pants and you wore those every day, what would be a reasonable lifespan for them do you think?

(Specific details in this case, if needed, being: non-fancy yoga pants, fairly active lifestyle (on/off floor chasing around after toddler all day etc) wash probably every third wear?)

6 months?
Wait… Define lifespan.
6 months is based on husband’s work pants which go through a lot of kneeling and various stains.

:frowning: I’m basically trialing this right now lol. I have 3 pairs of sweats. 1 pair I made, two were purchased. So far the softest is wearing out the fastest.
My guess is less than a year.

Sad to say… 6-8 months?
But the ankle section of a pair of leggings can nicely be cut into a stretchy headband when they die. :pensive:
