this is actually an earlier wave thing associated with people who are fans of “Kinfolk” magazine, a cross section of hipster + minimalist that is pseudo-agrarian/homesteader. whereas cottage core imo trends more fantasy/woodland witchy and the authoritative trendsetters in cottagecore are usually younger

That was my confusion. I don’t know many very large families without religion as a role. That doesn’t seem to be the case here. Hence my question. Something I’m unfamiliar with so it peaked my curiosity.

I wonder if they are actually religious, but don’t talk about it at all on their platform? I have followed several people recently, and only after watching a lot of youtube videos/instagram stories finally getting a hint that they are actually evangelical and/or devout mormons, but it’s just not something they really include in content. I’ve personally never met a family with more than 5 kids that wasn’t devoutly religious. But I guess they do exist!

My husband would love to get a video game he can play with our 4 year old. Does anyone have any suggestions?
We don’t currently have a console, only our computers, as we’re more PC gamers. He’s leaning toward getting a Switch and Animal Crossing or maybe a Mario game (for nostalgia’s sake).

Steam is a PC platform that has a kajilion games, many of them multiplayer/ kid friendly/ cheap. The high rated indie games tend to be really excellent. Never Alone, Child of Light, etc. Are great. For big name games the Lego video games are fun and appropriate, as is Minecraft, if played on an easy setting.
I use off-brand Xbox controllers on my laptop.

Do you have smart phones? An old smart phone can also make a great “console”. Something like coop stardew valley could be good.

This is just something that has left me scratching my head. My bathroom sink has been draining progressively more slowly over the past week. Three days ago or so, I tried baking soda + vinegar and it did nothing. Two days ago, I tried Draino and it did nothing. Now today I wake up and the drain is working just fine! Husband confirms he didn’t do anything. I live on the bottom floor of a house; other people live upstairs if any of that would affect my plumbing.

You need the snakey thing. It’s this red piece of thin plastic with hooks that you can fit into tiny drain openings and summon the evil hair demons so they stop clogging your pipes and only destroy your dreams of being a non disgusting human because good Lord that came from me. Blech.
