My college friend who wore that size swore by Hanes brand. This was 10+ years ago, but it’s a start!

Thank you! I’ve always had boobs small enough with a ribcage large enough to cause some frustration in finding the actual right size, and have relied heavily on trying on sister sizes in the store to get a decent fit. However, stores don’t let you try stuff on in them typically anymore, and though I’m sure I was a 38A at one point I can’t remember what I wore at that point… I probably lived in sports bras and ill-fitting old bras but I want sis to be able to have not just boring sports bras since she’s more girly than I am.

I assume she doesn’t need a lot of support. Look at Delta Burke - there are bralettes that have some foam in the cup to conceal high beams, but are very comfy and a step up visually from a sports bra. Also, not sure what equals reasonably priced, but look at Third Love for lots of sizes and styles - they give recommendations based on your breast shape. I got DeltaBurke on Zulily - so that is one way she might save some money.

If a drywall anchor I installed a few years ago is starting to wiggle loose, what can be done about it? (Assume I want to keep the screw in the same place.)

I’d assume patch, then reanchor?

Do I need to get on Instagram? What does it do?

Basically photo sharing at the root. It’s fun. But also at the root is the Facebook empire. I use it and enjoy it but it is not without fraught.

Hmm. I already participate in the Facebook empire, because my elderly mother harassed me until I got on Facebook several years ago, so I’m not avoiding anything that way. But I’m not sure I need something else to scroll through, either

ETA but dogs to follow!

I like it as separate from FB. FB I use for family and friends. IG I just follow dogs, cooks, etc. kinda for my what blogs used to be, but easier to navigate.

Would people be interested in a thread about Halloween/socially distant Halloween?

Someone probably asked this somewhere, but is Thredup the best thing to do if I want to sell clothes but don’t want to list individually? Like I really just want to send someone a bag of stuff and get some money, not even a lot of money. I took things to Buffalo Exchange once years ago but that doesn’t feel like the best thing to do right now!

local facebook group? I have seen people put out a full bag and say to pass on what you don’t want. It definitely won’t get you much money though.

I would really like to get at least some money. In grad school I shopped things like the Anthropologie sale rack a bit too much and some of the stuff I have is pretty nice and barely worn. A lot of it is kind of upscale but quirky/not standard professional wear but not out of place for a humanities grad student. Ideally I’ll do a combo of selling things and giving things away.

Corollary question: can someone describe relevant pros and cons of ThredUp and Poshmark to me? (Or some other used marketplace? Those are only ones I know about.) I’m getting slowly more confident about what size dresses fit me, feel comfortable, etc without needing to buy a bunch and return most, and might want to try used shopping soon to save $.

If it makes a difference, I’d be looking for casual dresses in sizes around 22/24 or 3X.

Pink bralettes are pretty and cheap. Other bralettes are pretty and not cheap. Maybe fenty has some?

I’d love to. I’ve used both a bunch!

Thredup: for buyers it’s great if you want to buy a bunch of clothes and don’t care too much about the specific measurements of the clothing or aren’t looking for a specific item. It really shines if you want to get say a dress with blue floral patterns because you can choose on a lot of factors I clouding neckline and category and patterns and colors and then sort cheapest to most expensive and buy the cheapest things that look good. But if things have shrunk it’s hard to tell. If you want a wardrobe redo and want to grab a bunch of stuff, you can get free shipping and some great deals. For sellers it’s a lot less work but also a lot less $$$. Just send in a bag and preparE to be disappointed by what they’ll give you.

Poshmark: more work for sellers but much better return; buyers you can do really well if you have specific items in mind (j crew 100% wool perfect fit cardigan? Yes!) you can ask for measurements to see that things haven’t shrunk and are the size you’re expecting. The search isn’t as good in my opinion for more general searches. No returns but you can relist if something doesn’t work for you. If you like something, sellers will often send you a deal and you can also make your own offers. The best deals are when you buy multiple things from one person but that rarely works out for me. The cheapest things are usually on thredup but I’ve mostly switched to poshmark because getting the exact things I want is worth more to me than saving a few bucks when we are already buying used.

Will a patch still hold weight? Regular spackle, or something more burly?

Not spackle, drywall patch. The spackle will probably just crumble with a new mollybolt. You could see if you could do a larger screw and anchor first?

Eta supposedly with the right filler you CAN just fill and rescrew. Potentially useful thread of people who know more than me: https://diy.stackexchange.com/questions/114339/can-i-fill-a-drywall-hole-with-something-and-reuse-the-hole

Has anyone set up email/text alerts when a cell in google sheets changes? I have view-only access to a sheet, and need to know when one cell is updated. IFTTT?

I tried creating a new spreadsheet and pulling in that cell using importrange, then turning on notifications when my doc is updated, but it doesn’t alert me when the source info updates.
