Has Sis measured herself? Do we know if she is looking for something more sports-bra-y or more pretty traditional bra like?

Yeah, bras can be pretty much as simple or complex as you’d like to get. If she wants a well fitted “classic” type bra, you need band and bust measurements to find cup size. Especially as you get larger, breast shape and “pole fullness” makes a big difference. (Ex, I have “lower pole fullness”. I could try on every full coverage bra in existence and never find one that fits right because of breast shape) Breast spacing too. Or you can go really basic on sports bras and soft bralettes and they tend to be S/M/L type sizing. Depends on the feel and look she’d like to go for! And price point, material, all that jazz.

And the 32A I used to wear was very different than the 38A my friend did.

She has but I’m waiting on her to tell me her band size.

I’m pretty sure for now she’s fine with simple, she’s just struggling with finding something comfortable enough that she can wear it all day and not be indecent. One push-up might be nice, but a huge investment isn’t ideal right now. Honestly if it came in a 3-pack, was comfy and provided nipple hiding it would be acceptable.

I’ve never heard of this! Maybe this is why I’ve never ever been able to fill a full-coverage bra.

For simple and 3 pack, Target has some great quality stuff. I’ve been pleased with all the Auden stuff I’ve tried.

As for the pole fullness- if you fit a size in a push-up but not a full coverage, and balconette or Demi bras fit you best, it’s a pretty safe bet you’ve got lower pole fullness  but the shape and spacing stuff is super interesting to look into. If you read some of it and can avoid getting overwhelmed, lol, it can lead to a much easier bra search forever more!

Yep, that’s me.

I hereby grant you permission to never try on a full coverage bra again! And to dismiss any notion of push ups being meaning laden for you- they’re an easy way to get around poor design for our body type that makes bras fit the way they should for us, not anything about compensating or whatever the Liar Brain might unhelpfully suggest. (Perhaps I’m projecting- but I had some Shit in my head about push ups fitting best. Turns out, that’s just because of breast shape stuff!)

Oh wait, I do have one full coverage bra that fits me. It’s a 36 D. Which makes 0 sense whatsoever. I’m usually a 40B? Dumb “sister sizes”.

Sis is a 34A so @Sunflower send me any and all boob covering suggestions

Not my sizing, but here to confirm that Target’s Auden line is fantastic and you can often get bras in the $10-$15 range. 34A should be fairly easy to find in store so maybe Sis can go to the store and try on? I have no idea if stores have fitting rooms open again or not.

Would we be monsters to make our nine year old dog sleep in a different room at night? It’s gotten to the point that she wakes us up at least once nightly with snoring and I keep a specific pillow at the ready to throw towards her crate (not at her, but near enough to her to kind of wake her up a bit). She’s very much My dog in that she’s usually within five feet of me during the day. But omg sleep is good. I’ve never had a dog before her so I don’t know what’s normal.

Fitting rooms aren’t open here, not sure in other states.

Would she be ok sleeping in another room or would she just keep you up in other ways?

You’re not a monster to try it. It’ll depend on the dog how she reacts. Different dogs handle it differently. I’d recommend making sure she has a special place, tucking her into it, and probably leaving her with something that smells like you. Tell her she’s good, consciously tell her good night, and see how she handles it. Our old fella slept in his own bed in his own room until he got to the point where he realized he couldn’t defend himself and got frightened in there alone, near the dog door. Then he came into our bedroom and there was no real sleeping for anybody for the last six weeks or so of his life.

I’d recommend that she bookmarks the calculator on r/a bra that fits and saves some of their information for later. I’d say that a t-shirt bra with a little extra in the cup might be nice. I’d also suggest something like a padded (or even umderwired) bralette from pink. I’d actually suggest la senza in canada more but…

I’d recommend against most things in department stores. And for you, I’d guess the 36D is more accurate and true. BUT I have opinions about lingerie that not all share. And if others are comfy, wear them.

@meerkat I agree it’s worth trying. Since she’s used to sleeping in a crate it shouldn’t be too terrible a transition for her. You can put something from your room nearby for scent - like dirty clothes on top of her crate.

My dog is almost 20 and once he stopped sleeping through the night a couple years ago we’ve had several changes in sleeping arrangements. Some worked well and some didn’t - it was very obvious within a few days what didn’t work.

Has the snoring gotten worse recently? That might be something to ask the vet about. Our dog was waking us up with scratching (not to mention rubbing his skin raw!). We ended up adding fish oil, yogurt, & probiotics until his scratching stopped.

Either way you’re not a monster to try new sleeping arrangements. Doesn’t hurt to make the new spot suuuuper attractive, whether it’s an extra-cushy crate pad or something that smells like you.

I’m not a dog person, but I feel this is the most important part of the responses (quoting just the last one, but they all contain some form of this). It will either work or it won’t, but it is OK to try.

Oh buddy, I am right there with you. I have no idea what the kids are doing these days. But, they seem okay on their own.

Oops we made a mistake, sis is a 38 A. This is much harder to find. Auden bras don’t seem to have that size. Any leads?
