oooh. That is exactly how my brain works.
You all are amazing humans!! I will look into these planners and let you know which one I get. Thank you so much for the detailed feedback
I used to use Level and loved it so much. It was a great app. Mint just isn’t the same.
The Inkwell planner has a quiz to see what type of planner works best for you, and I literally can’t even answer the first question. /sigh
Apparently I need to do some serious soul searching if I ever want to plan my life, haha.
The happy planner has so many options that there are 3rd-party youtubers who JUST do videos on how to choose a happy planner.
I had a list of requirements for my planner but then
- I stopped traveling or even going to an office so portability didn’t matter
- I changed jobs and no longer worked for myself
So, umm, I bought a NEW planner in July. oops.
So I’m guessing all you people would be horrified to hear that I think Google calendar makes a great planner. Even yells at me about things every morning if I tell it to.
I like Google calendar - especially the sharing option.
Yeah, that’s useful too. Also I can’t lose it like a paper planner. And zero waste.
Yeah, the part of me that adores paper and nice pens would love to have a paper planner for daily life but real me uses google calendar and workflowy.
I use google calendar all the time, especially because I share stuff with coworkers.
Planners are more a creative hobby for me, but the issue with having multiple jobs who all use different google suites is that I need paper to keep track of all the schedules
Oh geez. My job tries to use Office for all of the stuff that one should properly use Google Suite for, but I have politely declined. When they were picking an enterprise system, they came and asked my opinion, and then they disregarded it. Because of this, I feel no obligation.
Being in academia, you can kind of get away with this as academics tend to go rogue anyway. But I also did this in BigCorp. I was a small cog and they either never figured it out, or just didn’t care. Either way, I was happier.
Heh. No “kind of” about it.
YAY YOU!
In my last year, I started skipping meetings - I highly recommend that!
Not quite there yet, but it does depend on the meeting. I have pretty well stopped shuffling things around to get to meetings where I’ve indicated in the scheduling survey that I’m not available. Unless the president’s going to be there, or, usually, the provost.
Seems like a lot of folks are feeling feelings right now and I am too.
Does anyone want the file for my mental care worksheets? Or my quick mental health rituals list?
Just thought I’d ask. Message me if you need anything, ANYONE.
Yes pleases
Can anyone help me solve this cooking instruction question I have?
Crossposting the question from my journal over here. Thanks!!

Does anyone use google pay? Like, tap their phone instead of carrying a credit card?
No. It’s creepy. But I see more and more people doing it.
