We just bought a tushy. Curious to see the feedback you get.
Ooohhhhh. Aaaaahhhh. We have buckets! And this leaves room in the middle for the big tools.
Ok so I just read this as response to
And was slightly concerned. Not that buckets aren’t a viable option if needed, but just…yeah.
I bought this one fairly early on in the shutdown when toilet paper was still scarce in stores. Currently on sale for $18. I paid…more.

Have been pleased with the overall performance and have had no leaks. Installation was a bit of a pain, but that was due to cramped quarters in my toilet cubby.
SCARIEST
Oh my god
for that price – it’s ordered! it shall be seen if i can actually install it. i wonder if the building maintenance will do it for free.
Did everyone but me know that next weekend is Labor Day already? I had no idea until I was told today.
I was almost able to do the whole thing myself, but in the end, crappy grip strength did me in and I had to ask my husband for help. I also couldn’t get a good angle due to tight quarters.
Yup hard to believe it is August 29th today - where did summer go?
You’ve got this! I installed my own and at that point I was prone to a big fear of anything plumbing related. I used one 6 pack of tp in like the last 6 months - you’re gonna love it, they are the best.
<to self: ok that’s enough, be cool and not too enthusiastic about the butt powerwasher>
We are no longer using the term bidet. Butt powerwasher is the only acceptable word.
Brb, renaming our tushy. Informing my husband.
Looking for favorite Manhattan recipes. My family (Against my better judgement and protests) is having a celebration in honor of my great grandma today. We aren’t attending but I kind of want to make her favorite drink today in her honor. Obviously I can look up a recipe but I was wondering if anyone here drinks them more regularly than I do and has any tips to make it extra good
I also got the Tushy with the hot and cold water attachments. Have not had it long enough to give a full review of this butt powerwasher yet.
Help me buy kitchen appliances (or choose not to)!
Food processor -
What price point do I need for the functions and user-friendliness I seek? Every time I research this, I get overwhelmed and quit.
I do not have one. The last time I owned one was 20 years ago, and it was such a PITA to clean I never used it. I currently have an excellent dishwasher (so prefer things that can be mostly cleaned that way).
Main goal would be making chopping, cutting, or pulsing things - especially vegetables, nuts, and legumes.
I have a shitty BN blender and don’t know if I should get a food processor that has explicit second blender attachment.
Convection/Toaster Oven -
I cook less and re-heat things in a microwave that I’d rather use an oven for because I hate using my oven. I like roasted veggies and homemade pizza and occasional baking. The oven in my rental is electric garbage. (The stove top is too, but I use stand-alone induction burners and an instant pot to cope).
Need help understanding sizing issues - I have a relatively small kitchen, so while I can make counter (or stove top) space for it, size does matter. Of course, if it’s too small, it defeats the point of this replacing oven use
.
I also don’t understand the price-point to quality situation on this. Is a more expensive/fancy/top brand one worth it?
I have fairly cheap versions of both and am not sorry. Actually, both may be Hamilton Beach. I’m pretty darn sure my food processor said not to put in the dishwasher, but I’ve observed no ill effects over the last decade, so…
On convection size, consider if you want to cook a frozen /homemade standard size pizza in one. This was enough to convince me to go bigger, but if you don’t need that, then consider your casserole dishes/mini muffin tin/cake pans/ whatever you really want the thing for. Look at interior sizing. For my uses, it would definitely be worth putting the convection oven on a microwave cart if that was what I had to do to have it.
I know! We just got some but then decided to sell our bike and get one that works better for us. The bike shop is taking back the bags as credit for the bags that will fit the other bike, so we took them off the bike until we can get the new one. We only had them a few days and now it’s killing us to be without!
Food Processor:
I have a Cuisinart 7 cup, and I LOVE it. It was my first ever “expensive” purchase when I got my first real job out of college. I’ve had it for 9 years and it still works great. I use it A Lot, to make nut butters, pesto, hummus, grind nuts, grate veggies, make pie crust, etc. I think it’s worth it to get the nice one, but my mom always had a Cuisinart growing up and I just knew they were good and last forever. You might check a thrift store, I once saw an older Cuisinart for $15 at a Goodwill! The older ones are actually better, so even looking on Ebay for one isn’t a bad idea
I have found America’s Test Kitchen and Consumer Reports good sources for reviews. You need a subscription for ATK - but your library may have one, or you can do a 30-day free trial online. Consumer Reports May also require a subscription, more likely to be available in a library.
