Yeah…

We now agree that the sink smells fine, and under it too. Now he wants to move the dishwasher and see how that is. Given how filthy it was behind all the other appliances we moved I’m sure they installed the new dishwasher on top of some grossness and maybe that’s what he’s smelling. But after that I’m out of ideas.

Every single time I run into this problem it turns out to be rotting potatoes in a cupboard. Have you checked your potatoes?

Our mystery smeller was an onion!! I feel for your husband, I have the sensitive nose in the family and it’s awful. I hope you find it soon and it’s not too bad.

We did. It’s not pretty, someone is coming to quote to replace the wall and re-wire the dishwasher properly since it was just wrapped in electrical tape :woman_facepalming:t2:

I just read an article that the IRS is sending interest payments to people who received refunds in the past three months. These payments will average $18 and will be taxable so that people who received them will get a 1099 next year.

Why in the world would they do this?

My guess - because they delayed the filing deadline for 3 months, they held refund money an extra 3 months and are paying interest on it (for anyone that used the filing extension). We filed before April 15, so not relevant to us.

It seems to be a tax-laws-are-convoluted-and-weird thing and has to do with refunds being held during the extension

ETA what @Gdogg said!

I got my return in February I think, so it isn’t something that I will get. Just seems dumb, but so much about the government seems dumb. :woman_shrugging:t2: Like, would anyone have missed it? Or known they should have gotten it?

My in-laws filed their taxes in March using paper forms. They finally received their refund a couple of weeks ago, and it included interest. As recently as a month ago they were unable to determine if their return was even received by the IRS, and they were quite stressed about it.

We filed electronically using TaxACT right at the extended deadline. We received our refund within a week.

Yeah, even though I filled in March, they didn’t hit my account for the extra I owed until July. Which I knew would happen, but was still a surprise to find $1800 gone in the morning

Like IDoMe I filled electronically with TaxAct at the deadline… Minutes before, even. But I owed

I filed a return in February, I think? We had a refund in a week or so.

This year we filed in July but owed a small amount.

Last year we filed an amended return for 2017 and got back money from that return that we shouldn’t have paid in the first place, along with interest. They sent us a form with the interest and we recorded it in our taxes. It was pretty straight forward.

i took a C# class to help out a friend and i was not a fan? i spent a lot of time with this w3schools tutorial https://www.w3schools.com/cs/

Yeah, it’s not my go to. I was having issues getting it to compile a DLL but then discovered I needed to target a specific processor architecture.

Now it kind of works, but complains if I send text more than 16k characters long. So I’ll either need to chop up the text or figure out why windows hates me.

Chop up text if short term need. Figure the damn thing out if long term. But you know that.
