I also get frizzy hair in high humidity conditions. It’s just my hair – it’s lightweight flyaway hair and that’s what it does in humidity. If I condition it enough to not be frizzy, it ends up genuinely greasy instead.

I do an apple cider vinegar rinse after I shampoo sometimes, and it helps prevent buildup that I get when I use a shampoo bar. It helps a LOT. I’ve used up to 50:50 ACV/water, but less is still useful.

this is how my hair is too, it’s very fine+lightweight and prone to be greasy with too much product. In CO or AZ it’s almost never frizzy, but when I go visit my parents in the south my hair just becomes a giant frizz ball. Also now that I sleep with a humidifier (lifesaver!) I wake up with huge frizzy hair most days haha.

@CalBal I do notice on days where I wash my hair it’s a little fluffier, not necessarily frizzy, but just bigger and lighter…I think it’s because the week of sweat/product buildup is gone, so it is less weighed down. I can’t think of any product free ways to really reduce frizz except I always condition, then rinse upside down (leaving a bit of conditioner in my hair), and let my hair drip dry. I don’t touch my hair with a towel because that really creates frizz. If I need to wrap it in something, I’ll plop it in a soft t-shirt for a few minutes to get the excess water out. I personally use a combo of leave-in conditioner, and a light gel mixed, if I am in a high humidity area, and I apply it to my hair while it’s still super wet so I don’t create more frizz by touching it too much while it’s drying. Basically aside from products, I think the key to less frizz is not touching your hair at all while it’s drying, either with your hands or with a towel.

Wasn’t someone here looking for dumbells/ weights? Just got an alert from one of my deals groups that they are back in stock at Walmart. Looks like a decent collection and the prices don’t seem inflated.

:flushed: Whoa.

I have come here to say that after 2 times of using hibar and a deep apple cider vinegar wash, I have almost no scalp flaking anymore. SOLD. Especially because this (eventually) eliminates a liquid I need to take on carry on. Thanks @katscratch and @nickybecky1

I used to get tons of build up too and hibar has totally fixed that - but I know everyone’s scalp/hair are different so I tryyyy not to be too salesy about that bit

Mine is about half used up and I’m also sold on the shape - it’s definitely easier to hold as it wears down than the round or flat bars I’ve used before.

@katscratch , for the first time in several years, i lost a callous and a bit extra while deadlifting yesterday. Anything work in your experience to keep callouses from building up enough to do that?

Do you moisturize or exfoliate? Both of those can help. Those little foot callous files can work on thick hand callouses as well.

Eta sorry not katscratch, but my brothers and dad all get wicked callouses.( Husband is strangely immune)

Oh you’re fine, i definitely will accept good advice from anyone and you know your stuff! I just pinged kat because i know she’s probably seen a lot of people who lift like I do get the same skin tear at the callous

you didn’t ask me either, but gymnastics friends swear by callous shavers such as this one to keep the buildup from getting so bad : Callous Shaver

That looks way more pleasant than the weird shit the strongman gym types suggest

I seem to always be ripping mine super early and I don’t recommend that route haha

I feel like a salve type of moisturizer after workouts works a little better than a lotion to prevent thicker calluses, but it’s also super dry here half the year.

Agree with salves for thicker skin areas.

Any suggestions on buying a fridge (other than “be brute-sized”)?

So, depending on how much effort you want to go through, you might be able to rent a truck with a lift gate and use a dolly to get the appliance onto and off the gate and into the house

Since D and I are both sub-brute-sized people, and we also have a toddler to wrangle, that part of the process is definitely going to have to be outsourced. Thanks though
