How would you feel about animals instead of human couples?
Maisie goes to a wedding is the best book I’ve seen that actually just walks through what happens at a traditional wedding/reception.
The couple getting married does have a dress wearer and a suit wearer but I just checked and they only use gendered pronouns for the “bride” but never mentioned a groom or he/him for the other animal. There is a page about a bouquet toss, but easily skipped?
Favorite potty training resources?
Chickadee is too young to really potty train, but she’s showing interest in the toilet and I want to encourage her. Except I know roughly nothing about it except “encourage good potty posture.”
We got this book today and she screamed DOG DOG DOG and wanted to read it 5 times in a row

Stress free potty training! It has a bunch of different methods and discusses the pros and cons including the great age debate.
We had a lot of success with potty training in 3 days but I also didn’t do a lot of research into methods we just picked one and it worked for us!
Same here! We did the Big Little Feelings course and it was a little repetitive but got DH and I on the same page

Why do we need to go to the doctor’s for ear infections? We all know what it is like holding a screaming child until the clinic opens. Just give us a cure on the phone, preferably a nice box with antibiotics, ice cream, popsicles, coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
First ear infection as a parent: the world is falling apart and my child may have a fatal disease

Ditto strep for us. Oh y’all are busy? Just tell me what cabinet the strep tests are in and I’ll get it myself. Or just start stocking these directly at the pharmacy.
This one actually exists! You can buy strep tests online. I also have a subscription to Blueberry pediatrics and they send you a smart otoscope that they can see the ear infection and just prescribe what you need. You can also do the strep tests and they will prescribe antibiotics. I live rurally so not having to drive into town is freaking amazing.
@gardeningandgreen I’ve gotten Blueberry ads, and have been very curious! How has it been working for you? Does your regular pediatrician have any feels about overlapping with another practice? We are “only” a 15 min bike ride to our pediatrician and they have great after-hours nurse calls and a daily drop-in window, but taking a sick kid anywhere is never fun.
We really only use it for things that we would go to urgent care for. It’s been great and the doctors are really kind. The pediatrician doesn’t seem to care all that much what we do for urgent care.
