The Pedia-Lax is 2-12, ask their doctor under two. Larva took one as a dose at age two, now two as a dose at age four.

She used to call them poo-poo candy, but now calls them poo-poo medicine, lol

Thanks all! I’m going to look for some of these Mg products because that always helps me the most as well (although I usually dose myself by adding a bunch of pumpkin seeds for a few days :stuck_out_tongue:)

One time there was a miscommunication or mis-planning and we took the boys on like an 8 mile hike in cheap consignment sale snow boots, and I felt so guilty that ever since I have made sure that they have top-notch snow boots even though we don’t really do winter hiking these days as the cuckoo is the wrong age.

Question about lunches. My DH buys lunch (and dinner) almost every workday. We agreed that we could save a lot of $$ (duh) if he starts taking lunch with him. Besides leftovers of dinner, what are your favorite lunches to take to work? He has access to a microwave.

I think about this a lot but it’s just nice to hear ideas from humans and not Google

And yes, I am posting this in the parenting thread. Because this is a parenting duty IMO

What are you guys maximizing for? Like is convenience the priority, or health (defined as XYZ), or cost?

I watched a lot of tik tok’s “pack my lunch with me” not too long ago, and got some good ideas that way. I ended up buying a set of four compartment containers.

So lunch usually is:

  • Either leftovers or a sandwich
  • In the four compartments - veggies, dessert (cookies), hummous or dip, crackers or bits n bites or crispers, or tortilla crackers with salsa, or cheese slices. I usually aim for a veggie, a sweet, a salty, and a dip.
  • Yogurt
  • Fruit. I usually aim for two.

My goals were to have a balanced lunch, and stop buying single packet items - the four compartments helped with that, instead of buying a single serve packet of crackers, I put crackers in one of the compartments. Instead of buying fruit cups, I can buy a can of fruit and fill one compartment for a few days.

We need a packed lunch twice a week, so this is our twice a week lunch. If it was daily, I’d probably want to mix it up a bit more.

I prefer not making a separate lunch every day, so sometimes will do a pot of red turkish lentil soup for the week, wilt some spinach into it, and broil a bunch of chicken thighs.

A very low-effort lunch I like to have in the mix is getting a footlong sub/hoagie sandwich (either at the grocery or the deli around the corner) and splitting into two halves for two days.

I also like packing leftovers into lunch portions so you only have to touch them once.

For the kids we often cut a few days worth of apples, cheese, etc. at a time. They love smoked salmon too and it keeps well.

+1 to the question above - are you prioritizing warmth, nutrition, ease, cost?

Good question! Probably a mixture of cost and convenience.

The biggest lie I tell myself is that I will do this, and I always end up eating both halves/both sandwiches at once. I love sandwiches I didn’t make!

I love these. And I always enjoyed eating from them back when I was making lunches for myself. I use them for my daughter and it never occurred to me to use them for another adult. I can look for some of his favorite snacky things and make a smorgasbord.

I did this plus a fruit, I think. It’s been ages. But there was something else with the hoagie.

Ok I have a question that May out me as an absolute idiot but I am so confused I don’t care

When your baby was less than a year old

How did you factor what “month” of age they were? Ex: Ravioli was born on Oct 15, so when Nov 15 rolled around, I said he was 1 month. When March 15 rolled around, I said he was 5 months old.

BFF 1 is insisting her child, born Dec 4, was 3 months old on Feb 26 because it had been 12 weeks

But then won’t he be “12 months old” before his fucking birthday?!

I’m losing my MIND

Like a “month” is not just automatically 4 weeks?

Thank you. I will silently hold this affirmation close to my heart and not start a meaningless fight with someone who hasn’t slept a full night since December :sunglasses:

I’m still mad that a month isn’t 4 weeks and so a year isn’t just 13 months with a day that’s just NYD outside of any month and pregnancy isn’t just 10 even months OR 9 without counting all that time before positive test and the moon isn’t approximately the same phase on the same day of each month and

It is my eternal struggle that the world will never agree to make this so
