Day 4
So this morning I put on the red tights and then decided the green tweed dress didn’t go. So I went with the orange and brown tweed instead. Because I grew up in a house decorated during the 70s? Regardless, I like the combo.
This dress was the first I bought after 5 years of high school kilts. Bought at the strong urging of my best friend to get out of my comfort zone. And these are my first Fluevogs too.
Day 5
My sipilla sweater makes an appearance, as planned. These socks are getting a bit threadbare, I should probably duplicate stitch and reinforce them, but I prefer to knit new things. Maybe when I take my next vacation.
Yes, come to the dark side and knit many socks. Alternatively, PM me your shoe size and address, and you might get socks (quantities limited) as I make socks faster than I wear them out. This offer is open to anyone reading.
I was going to say that these were part of my 12 in 2012, but I would have been lying, because these are from 2011, so I shouldn’t complain too much about being threadbare.
WFH look 1
On the advice of basically everyone I made sure to actually get dressed before sitting down to my desk. I even did some makeup although I got lazy about the hair.
I wore my enchanted mess sweater today, but decided the part of my outfit I felt like sharing are some of my favorite socks. Alas threadbare atm. They need darning. This is why nylon in sock yarn is so desirable.
So it is both the type of sheep the wool is from, and the proportion of nylon to wool.
The blue is BFL (Blue Faced Leicester) and the brown is merino. The blue is 80% wool / 20% nylon, the brown is 95% wool / 5% nylon. This is why I really should knit more with BFL, but it’s harder to find than merino (which is so soft in the skein).
