OOTD: Share Your Looks!

I saw a movie today. I also wore a shirt from a free pile. These things are related.

I left the house once today, to spray the new shoes, which means I wore an early sweater that I learned a lot from, including failure modes of zippers, why models so often are holding their open front shawl collar cardigans that way, and why patterns generally say to use smaller needles for ribbing.

Jeans from a swap. Grey misshapen tshirt us also a home-only item.

I have a question for the room. What would you wear to a brunch (10am) wedding, in January, in Washington DC (so likely sub-40 degree temps)? I am somewhat stumped, and my favorite (and nicest) sweater dress just got shrunk in the dryer…

Oh, and there is no guidance from the bride and groom (though I suppose I could ask).

Location of wedding?

I lean towards caramel or gray booties, tights and a nice dress with a cardigan. Giant coat over top.

Loooooove that dress. High school me and current me would both wear that

Obviously favourite sweater dress would be best…but I’d also do pencil skirt, tights, and fancyish top. Or sparkly pencil skirt, tights, and less fancy top. Or pink long sleeve bodycon dress (any colour but black and white, but I’m just reading you my wardrobe here).

My female relatives would do pant suits plus jewelry

@DCKatie09 I’d wear a knee length dress with 3/4+ sleeves, probably in a slightly more casual fabric than I’d wear for a formal/evening wedding. For legs I’d probably go with the same color but a lighter shade (and not opaque) tights.

Everything about it cracks me up. From the goofy hat right down to the neoprene beach shoes.

I’m off to teach toddlers how to make a fire

Fire making is an important skill, and starting early while you can still help them find the balance of unbridled joy and the importance of control/safety is critical.

I had a discussion with a coworker about an issue at work which she characterized as a fire, and she said was too big for me to take on. I suggested that the fire might just need someone with the right boots to kick it apart, and then each of them could be stamped out, and I was thinking of a very specific real world (not metaphorical fire) where my shoe soles only melted very slightly. :safety_vest:

Too ‘Calgary hockey mom’?

Grey high waisted jeans, hand knit linen stitch tshirt, jean jacket, new grey boots

I would never have identified the look that precisely…but maybe a little more in that direction than you usually lean. Your jacket probably has cuter design quirks than theirs do.

I am unfamiliar with Calgary hockey moms, but I love those jeans and think it’s a cute outfit! (If loving Calgary hockey moms is wrong, I don’t want to be right ???)

Now I am interested in what you would have called it…

I don’t have a name for it. Just, that outfit is really cute, but a little different from plain Jane’s normal style. But once you said Calgary soccer mom…I was like YES all the very very put together instagram moms who are amazing, but also not you

Playing on easy mode today because the office is closing at noon so I am working from home. This is my expensive scarecrow sweater (most of the yarn is merino cashmere nylon blend and some is hand dyed). Other names or framing for the sweater gratefully sought.
