I wore my maternity swimsuit a lot of summers after having given birth.
My maternity swimsuit is cute and comfy and will be pried from my cold dead hands. Also it is perfect coverage for all the bending over and picking up of the infant that caused me to need it in the first place so wins all around.
Maternity swimsuits are not made for tall women I never found one that was long enough. Had to go the large ill fitting bikini route for Hawaii.
I love the casual elegance (like I don’t give a hoot but also I’m wearing pearls) in that ensemble.
Need help. Cousin’s wedding is this weekend. Invitation says semi formal but it is outdoors in southern PA, and will go into the night. Weather says high of 65. This is a family farm and I’ve been to two other weddings there but the dress code for them was basically “look nice, wear flat shoes because the barn is 100 years old”. There will be walking in the woods between where the ceremony is and where I think the reception will be. Does this toe the line enough? I need to be able to nurse in it, and I figure I can throw on a big sweater I knit and leggings underneath if it’s cold. Also does it even matter since I’ll probably be wearing bobbin? If I put a bow on her maybe that counts as semi formal?
Looks at least semi-formal (if not formal) to me!
I suppose jewelry is tough with a baby - since at certain ages they like to grab things (ouch, ouch, ouch - I have PIERCED ears and those are firmly attached!) - but some accessory could jazz it up as long as it is baby safe.
I don’t really have any appropriate baby friendly jewelry. I’ll wear my gold studs. I’m hoping if I curl my hair and have nice makeup it will be enough. I don’t think anyone is going to care about me, but I don’t want to stand out. Also given the likelihood that some of our family will show up in jeans I guess I shouldn’t worry
That dress looks lovely, and I think it fits the bill!
Is there baby friendly jewelry? Babies have that Kung fu grip and an innate knowledge of sensitive targets.
Fancy scarf? With a bit of sparkle? Does it need to be baby fluid proof?
I made myself a baby friendly necklace out of knit fabric strips and untreated wooden beads but that’s about all I know of in terms of baby friendly jewelry
Clearly a market in need of a supplier!
That dress is perfect!
I also have family members who can be relied on to show up to weddings (and funerals!) in jeans or cargo shorts and keep their hats on throughout the event. I still like to dress up a little but it sure takes the pressure off!
I love the dress, and the idea of a bow on Bobbin.
If the bow on bobbin is sparkly, then you’re both formal. I think this dress is great
Yes, that looks appropriately semi-formal (especially since it’ll be outdoors/in a barn); it’s a floor-length black dress, after all! Nice flats or a low wedge would complete it nicely.
I love the dress and it’s very similar to what I’m wearing to a wedding next week (comfortable, loose but nice fabric and small amount of sparkle).
I’m of the opinion that as soon as something is long you are automatically fancy It looks lovely!
I love your dress! And I refuse to acknowledge any end to dresses/skirt season, so I just throw on leggings underneath heh
