Basic outfit but it’s essentially what I wear every day to work, including my shoes. I love how basic my shoes are. Slip on, grey/black, totally ignorable. The anti-cute shoe.
The important part of today’s outfit - accessories! DNA earrings and T-Rex skeleton necklace. Cue the Jurassic Park theme! DA-NA-NA na na, DA-NA-NA na na!
I recently discovered that my hair actually wants to be curly hair, today is the first time I’ve successfully had Day 2 curly hair. I’m kind of self conscious about it but thankfully as long as you look somewhat put together and adult-ish my workplace doesn’t care about looks. I did do up my make up in addition to the earrings/necklace to kind of distract from the hair oddness though. (It’s not odd, I just feel odd about it. I’m letting it mostly do what it wants after three decades of doing the opposite.)
I looooove all your outfit details! If you follow Young House Love on Instagram she has a whole story about how she discovered that her hair is curly in adulthood and has some tips on helping it to embrace the natural curl when it’s in that in between stage. It worked super well for her and I don’t think it involves a bunch of products.
Cool, I’ll look it up. I’ve already changed up the shampoo/conditioner situation but I literally realized last week that my thing of gel that I thought I had is MIA and that was the only product I owned, lol.
I do dye my hair though (it’s very overdue actually), that’s how I started to realize my hair wanted to be curly. I’d dye my hair, let it air dry, and it looked rather curly … I bet the dying process was stripping away the silicons or whatever so my hair could finally do what it wanted.
I love that necklace!
AWESOME! And welcome to team curly!!!
Day 12: Had food poisoning and wore christmas puppy flannel pj pants and a black panther t shirt all day. forgot to take photo, did not forget to only wear what hadn’t been worn before.
Day13: Shirt from the Limited, skirt from Loft, shoes from Macys. I always forget about this skirt because in my mind it’s much shorter than it really is when on. Not sure what that’s about.
Day 14: Magenta pants from the limited (God, how I miss them), knit black top with attached polka dot fake undershirt thing from Loft. Shoes are a rerun, but I think the challenge still stands. Wearing this made me realize how I much prefer the idea of this shirt and not so much the implementation of it. Every time I wear it I wish the arm holes didn’t gape so much, that the bodice fit a little better and that the cute polka dot bit showed up as a collar as well. Shirt is now in donate pile.
The TRex necklace is from Joulery and they just announced they are closing…you can get that necklace for like $5 if you hurry
I was going to comment that someone else availed themselves of the Joulery sale, but @Sunflower beat me to it! Trying to figure out which friends deserve the dino necklaces. I’m keeping a serotonin one
Looking at this picture again, I think I can get rid of my backup interview dress. That one’s a similar color and style, but it’s even bigger in me and needs a tank top underneath to be work appropriate.
Short dress and bootcut jeans for a cool spring day. This dress used to be too low cut on me, but not any more as my boobs sag. Hooray!
I’m trying to wear dresses more, even if it means wearing jeans underneath to be comfortable. I think straight/skinny pants would actually look OK under a dress on me as well.
Leggings or tights would be good too. Whatever makes you comfy.
Low cut necklines have always made me a bit nervous. But glad you can wear this dress again - it’s cute.
A BN maternity dress and swap scarf. Turns out maternity clothing looks good on me due to the defined waist. And it’s comfortable!
I love maternity clothes and wish that I’d been wearing them my entire life since puberty.
Same. Might never go back from maternity leggings
