You look great! But let’s just take a moment to admire that large bedroom and all that light in it!
I got this dress at a clothing swap last summer. Today I wore it for the first and last time. The elastic waist kept riding up making the shoulder straps slip down. The dress is now destined for the Buy Nothing clothing round robin when I get the box next week.
What is that?
My Buy Nothing group (https://buynothingproject.org/) occasionally has round robin exchanges for clothing. Instead of a person listing each peice of clothing they don’t want, they put it all in a bin or bag and specify a certain size or size range. Someone picks up the bin, takes out what they want, add their own unwanted clothing in the size range, and passes it on to the next person in line. It eventually makes its way back to the originator (or someone else who can rehome the unwanted pieces). We currently have size 2-6 and size 8-12 bins going around.
My old BN group did round robins too. They were a lot of fun! Too bad the dress doesn’t work, it’s super cute.
I’m dressed inappropriately for the weather (high of 95) but appropriately for the office (freezing all the time). Got a new belt, too!
That top looks so silky also I love how you smile at yourself in the mirror.
I’m smiling at you guys! Saying hi!
Another thrift store dress, worn to the park so I could eat wild blackberries. I like dresses and am also semi-feral.
If you like it enough to try to fix it, sounds like you just need some hem weights to pull it down. Light fabrics like that will ride up without any weight at the bottom to help with drape.
Ooh, thanks! I don’t think I’ll keep it because it also would require a new bra and I don’t want to deal with that. But I’ll keep this in mind for future dresses!
Men’s shirts (yesterday’s was a medium men’s slim fit)> women’s shirts. This is as high as I can roll up the sleeves and my arms are not that built.
I can’t wear those kinds of shirts at all, due to arm issues.
As in the shirt sleeves are the wrong shape for your arms, or you have physical difficulty in the movement of getting them on?
If it’s #1, for me the equivalent is skinny leg pants. There’s a 50/50 change of getting stuck at my knees. Also fun fact, doctors (in general) really, really hate button down shirts since shots etc. take 3x longer.
The wrong shape. My upper arms are really thick, I guess my body likes to store fat there. So if the rest of the shirt fits my frame, the arms won’t fit. Button-down, woven shirts like that are the worst. They are never cut wide enough for the top part of my arm. But sometimes other styles of blouses don’t work, either. I reject a lot of tops just judging by the width of the sleeve. I mostly end up in knit tops.
