Objects of Desire

You want colourful, stylized, medium-busy narrative landscapes. That narrows it down a ton! But not in ways that help you search.

Thanks! Will search for similar on sites like Society6, see if I can find purchasable art!

I hate how unsearchable Society6 is. I’ll try RedBubble next. Tried to gather a few though, not sure if they all fit.

Art talk

I think my next focus will be on a piece of art for the kitchen. Something on that site made me think witch which made me think apothecary, so now I’m looking for something apothecary-ish. Something between this and this maybe.

Art would go on green wall to the right of the door.

The first one has more character and the second is more sophisticated. Which are you going for?

The second one. I like that it’s sophisticated but also “Wait, is that a frog? Is this from some high end witch home catalog?”

I like your style.

Now I want that too.

A Kobo Libra.

I still can’t find my Kindle  and “my” library was shut down because of damage in the 3rd precinct riot. Reading books on my phone is starting to annoooooyyyy me.

I’m feeling this herbarium one.

I didn’t know I wanted a plant poster, but apparently I do.

Yes I’m here with you. Still haven’t found my Kobo.

I really enjoy botanical painting style posters - I want to learn to paint like that!

Our oven is freestanding and there’s no room for counters on the sides. I was just thinking that there’s room for a folding table to the left; we could unfold it when cooking, and fold it back up when we want to use the door. But if it’s just a table, my kid will knock it down constantly (and then go “fall down! OH NO!”). So maybe we could have something that just attaches to the side of the oven. Is that a thing that could be purchased?

Could you use a more stable rolling island that rolls in and out of place as needed?

Me three

I’m not sure I’m quite getting what you mean. If we got something that rolled and did not fold up, it would still take up the same amount of space all the time. (Also, the wiggler would push it around all the time.)

I don’t know of anything designed to attach to an oven. Is there enough room for a small gateleg table? That wouldn’t be easy for the wiggler to move and the top would fold down when you don’t need it.

Like this one from IKEA

Ooh, I really like the look of that but we only have about four inches of space.

I didn’t know if the issue was space, as in an absolute, or just space in one area. Like, if it was next to a door that couldn’t regularly be obstructed, but could during cooking time. In that case, moving something from open but less accessible space during use could be an option. I’ve done that in a studio apartment before- kept a rolling cart in my “bedroom” when not cooking, use it to extend my counters when actively cooking (but it couldn’t live there, since it blocked flow to the bed/bathroom area).

Ah, yeah, space is pretty much at a premium everywhere.
