Objects of Desire

That’s not magic, that’s effort.

I want jelly shaped hanging planters (in a variety of colours). Only $70 each :see_no_evil:

Oh damn, I know these ones. So far I’ve put myself off them because I have nowhere to hang them…

They are nice. I have one from the same people that was a gift ages ago and it’s lovely. I’ve been eyeing off the jelly ones for years. Eventually I’ll buy one, if they don’t discontinue them first.

Hmm I wonder if they are stocked at any stores inside a Westfield, I have a heap of gift cards… it seems unlikely. Off to investigate!

Edit: :-1:

I really want new workout clothes. I know they won’t make me workout more, but that’s what they are trying to convince me!

I want a mature small tree in the middle of my backyard and a fully enclosed patio.

Current rain is probably a factor in this desire.

First post on here. My current one is a big one- the periodic desire for a house that roars up, I think part of the nesting vibes. It’s silly. I love our apartment. It’ll work wonderfully for a baby and give us SO little maintenance to worry about during the newborn phase. We don’t regret selling our old house and moving. And yet… I want a yard. I want a nursery to fuss over. But, I would want it in the same neighborhood as we currently live in, and the same quality as our old house, and that just doesn’t exist. And if it did, we couldn’t afford it. Not that any of that keeps me from lusting over zillow when I walk past a house for sale sign.

So, yep. That’s my object of desire- a house that makes zero sense, financially or otherwise.

I currently own a house and I lust over zillow stuff anyway.

We bought in February this year and I still look most weeks at houses for sale. Financially the decision was neutral to poor for our finances but can be somewhat justified by emotions and intangibles.

I want two pairs of Thinx so that I can have a set that lasts me my whole period (I find them sooo much more comfortable than the alternatives). Unfortunately, two of them are still $80, which is way more than the pads I have to buy to supplement the Thinx I already have.

I want some of the amazing indigenous-made blouses at the market here in Mexico, and some of the silly Frida Khalo that she would have been horrified and amused by.

I want to live in a place with Mexico City’s climate and culture and food.

I want these

But they make no sense in my new job. And they are still over $300.

I really want a decent fence around my yard.

And a massage.

I’ve been fantasizing about getting a prenatal massage.

Have you considered reusable pads/liners? They’re much less expensive than Thinx, and I think pretty simple to make if you know how to sew. I like to use them for my lighter days.

My first mother’s day gift was a post natal massage, which was also my first real time away from the baby. It was glorious and I highly recommend it to everyone.

You should get a prenatal massage and a post natal massage and compare the two. For science.

Hahahaha I may have typo’d that a couple times in my life :joy: the challenges of a medical profession!

Those are good in pregnancy too. And afterwards for the scarring.

I want a ukelele, because my current guitar’s neck is too wide for my short fingers but they’re cheaper than buying a guitar…
