Oh yeah I’m not disputing that. I’m disputing that it was the lack of bears that lead to Antarctica and proposing it was due to it being the opposite pole. Unrelated to bears.

Yes, at no point did I dispute the etymology of Artic. I had issues with the idea that an explorer visited the large continent at the South Pole, observed the lack of bears and named it Anti-bear place.
