Let's make 2026 a good one.

How do we want to add joy and goodness and growth to the coming year?

I am IN. Whimsy is good for me. I know I eat better when I eat fancier at home (e.g. a nice onion jam to add to hommus or a different fancy cheese every week).

Last year I aimed to “ghibli-fy” my desk in the office building I work at. I got myself a pink keyboard and mouse and a nice bamboo monitor riser, instead of using the ugly plastic ones that were provided. I’d like to make some work-relevant posters for it this year, maybe a desk mat to put my keyboard and mouse on.

I don’t have a plan yet. Working on it.

This year when I think “man I would love to be closer with this person but…” like, actively try to foster friendship instead of listening to the but.

So far I have two acquaintances I would like to be friends with and several friends I would like to be a better friend towards and some internet friends I would like to make irl acquaintance with.

Also wearing stuff I like without caring about others opinions.

Love the using the good stuff philosophy.

Make more delicious food. Make it just for me even if that’s the only person who wants it.

We’re gonna do a Saturday Dinner series.

I love this. I’m here for inspiration. My theme this year is “2026: add joy to the mix”. I have peace and contentment in my life, but not a lot of the higher energy states of joy or big laughter. I like the framework of the 9 Delights. Way more fun than 9 virtues.

I will enjoy my stuffies more. Play with them, cuddle them, just admire them.

I love whimsy and delight! Loving all the inspiration here :sparkles:

I’ve added quite a bit to my work station to spark little joys (speaking of stuffies, I migrated an entire purple-pink-teal collection to work since many of my coworkers also display toys & dolls) but I bet that could be a way to add some targeted whimsical vibes to 5 out of 7 days a week!

I thought of another one!

I will get whipped cream on my drinks more often. Possibly every time I get a drink from the vegan coffee shop.

Oh I love that one!

Mine is inspired by @BiblioFeroz. I am choosing the word present. I will be more intentional and present, and also I will aim to receive more presents.

I have been caught up in various administrative year-opening tasks and haven’t made a lot of plans, but I would love to hang out in this thread!

I know two things I want to focus on in 2026 are making my house more functional and comfortable and spending more time and energy on/with my teenagers.

We need to do some serious decluttering and I really think that our weird downstairs space could be used for more purposes with the right furniture/equipment. Right now it is only the Boy’s WFH space and a puzzle table and storage. I wish we also had space for a guest to sleep, room to do free weights and a space for sewing and other large-surface crafts.

I bought myself a whimsical cardboard butterfly! Its bright yellow and I’m going to attach it to my desk at work.

Missed this before, but planning to add a cat (preferably two) to the household. Haven’t found them yet, though.

My kids do shower porridge for extra cozy. I do shower ice water, but my tub is right next to my toilet which is not ideal
