I decided to give myself a fun resolution of learning to identify trees this year off this thread, and have been studying the british woodlands A-Z when Iām bored (starting at A!) - and Iām proud to say I identified my first tree yesterday, an alder in a parking lot!

Honestly starting that in winter is on hard mode! Thatās awesome. Itāll be so much easier when you have more deciduous leaves to look at I bet!

Yeah I only got the alder because of the rather distinctive catkins and cones combo, a lot of others will need to wait until summer. Was quite the thrill though!

I think mine will be to get all the boxes out of the downstairs roomsā¦ The problem isnāt moving the boxes, itās doing something other than just moving them from room to room. Soā¦?
The attic (cold! 
) is almost clear enough to take boxes from elsewhere, almost. There is still a trunk in the way, it has boxes from stuff we bought in it, just needs to be taken to the dump. When thatās gone, I can set up the 2nd bench I have to take boxes, erect it, and off we go.
So, an alternate to clearing a room/ the attic/wheverā¦ removing 10 boxes a month. The net result should still be to get the downstairs rooms cleared, which is the goal.
