I have a garmin, which is a smart watch but a lot more limited in function. It doesn’t have a touch screen. I’m not sure if that’s what you’re looking for though.
Fitbit and Garmin’s mid range options are a good bet. All will have a step tracker. The midrange ones will have a heart rate monitor. The fanciest ones will have GPS but they start to feel more like smart watches, bulkier, lots of features like sleep tracking, etc.
I got a free marble run and specially set it aside as a not present. I was able to bring it out last night instead of giving in to “can we open just one present early?” and it was a hit. It even got an hour plus of playing without screens this morning without Kiddo even noticing.
One of my best ideas lately has been “hey, I have this heavy basket of laundry, can you push it down the hall please?” Heavy work for toddler!
Giving myself two gold stars this weekend:
- My toddler has started referring to our friend Adam, an adult man who is very serious, as Mimi. I love it and am reinforcing it hard.
- I’m on page 50 of Helen Dewitt’s The Last Samurai, and so far my takeaway is that I should expose this same toddler to more highbrow culture. He demands that music is on all the time, so now we’re working our way through a list of the 500 best albums of all time. So far we are stuck on Pet Sounds, it is so good?!
Love it! My toddler hates the Beach Boys… glad yours has better taste!
Is it The Rolling Stones list? Because you could do the same review challenge I am!!
The very one! Omg IN how fun
Love this plan
A week in and Bernito and I are really enjoying the album a day challenge, please join if this sounds fun! @ginja_ninja i know you love a project
Today’s album is Loretta Lynn’s Coalminers Daughter and Bernito calls it a “tar” (guitar).
Yay!! What did he think of The Weeknd lol
Neutral! He didn’t give it a negative review (asking for baby shark or turning on the Hatch for music instead) but didn’t want to carry his speaker from room to room. I expected him to be more into it.
How is it going for you all?!
Haha I was going to play him one yesterday and he demanded baa baa black sheep so I’ll try again another time
That’s a good album. Did you ever see the movie?
Never! Do you recommend?
Well, I haven’t seen it since I was a kid so my adult eyes may view it differently, but I loved it and watched it a bunch of times.
I am in for this challenge!!! I’ve been needing to listen to some new music myself! Yayayayay how fun
My kiddo is hard to feed (lol toddler) but I have found a reliable way to get calories in him! We have reusable pouches and mix yogurt, apple sauce, and chia seeds and load em up. So fast and easy to make. He’s not always a fan of store bought pouches and I feel extra crunchy making them but it’s awesome! Takes like 10 minutes to make them and they last in the fridge all week.
I’m sure now that I posted this he will hear and start refusing them
I’m going to try this (I already have reusable pouches but I’ve been lazy) bc I’m tired of kiddo eating $5 in lower calorie pouches every day
Dooooo it! Even just filling with apple sauce could work. I was looking for lower cost+super easy.
I mix everything in a mason jar and shake it up and it’s a pourable consistency so filling the pouches is virtually mess free once you know how much to put in each one. I’m also using normal yogurt not Greek yogurt so it’s more liquidy but I’m sure Greek yogurt would work too!
