Two s’mores. That’s it.
Directly from the freezer is a flex. I’d be into that
That’s Pebbles. When she was 2ish her breakfast was frozen blueberry eggos. No butter no syrup, no toaster. Frozen. For months on end. I think she ate thousands of them.
Does she like frozen peas? That was the only vegetable my kids ate for years. But don’t you dare cook them! Don’t even let them thaw.
Gotta try this!!
Latte loved this for ages. That frozen bag of mixed peas and carrots from Fred Meyers? Hell yeah.
Yes! They love frozen peas how did you know? You’re the master.
OMG this looks so hard. You are putting so so much effort into this.
The ongoing process of teaching my kid Spanish.
This is a book from Curio, a Spanish kids book service.
I am using index cards to slowly teach him the book. Currently emphasizing animals and warning phrases because he’s autistic and i’m leaning into his special interests.
He LOVED it and especially loved that he could add his own words to the index cards.
This is such a great idea! I am trying to expose Pipsqueak to as much Spanish as possible (and learn along side of her). Books are difficult because she can’t follow the story if it’s all Spanish. I need to get some more books or take another trip to the library soon.
One recommendation to look for at the library is Gato Guapo…it’s a mix of Spanish and English and is mostly counting (in Spanish). It’s short and silly so maybe not to Meowlet’s interest but Pipsqueak loved it.
Other Spanish Stuff
We have been making slow but consistent progress with talkbox . Mom as well. We are still on box #1 which is all about eating and kitchen phrases. It took a while for Pipsqueak to engage with the Spanish and we still forget to use Spanish first 99% of the time but we usually remember to repeat in Spanish. For me, it’s been more effective and actually usable than any sort of app
What they don’t tell you about sleep training is that when you hear the wet sneeze happen after you’ve had them down for 15 min, you break all the rules and go in to wipe the boogie nose
a fitted sheet does the same thing as the expensive body sock thing I keep forgetting to buy. A fitted sheet. Those repressive things our grandparents used for no sane reason. Anyway B1 fell asleep in his own bed no lying next to me.
Fitted fucking sheets
It’s like mud and dishes and cooking and fucking fitted sheets could replace so much sensory shit. We have no trees or that probably helps on climbing.
Took Kiddo with me grocery shopping (he wanted to come so I waited for him to finish the last few minutes of his show), went to two stores, and actually felt patient the whole time. Normally I go solo.
Kiddo needs more practice on his multiplication facts and I came across a corner of the internet where people with either ADHD or dyslexia (I forget which now) saying that they never got the hang of memorizing the whole table but they could do 3 6 9 12 15 18 etc. And that’s how they get by as adults.
I combined that idea with something I saw years ago for sight words - posting it in a highly trafficked spot to basically act like a mini flashcard session.
Behold, our new bathroom decor. Later this week I’ll change it to the 4s.
I have mild dyscaculia and this is how I get by. My mom was big into learning through songs growing up and we had a casset tape with numbers counting songs. I think unfortunately they were quite religious? Anyway, adding a tune to the count helped a lot!
ETA a quick Google search looks like there’s a YouTube channel called numberock that does multiples songs! Probably much better than the one about Mary and Martha counting how many dishes there were after feeding Jesus and his disciples )
This is so creative!n I love it
Brilliant!
I might need to copy this. I learned recently that my teens have kind of forgotten their times tables! (Thanks, pandemic.)
I don’t think my kids were ever taught them.
