I don’t have “Automatic Exchange” as an option. Is that maybe my problem?I have the automatic invenstment set up (bank to settlement account) just not the second part. OK I should just listen to the podcase, I know it was mentioned how to do this.

Huh. Sorry I can’t help then. Good luck!

I’d give them a call. The few times I have had t actually call Vanguard they were very helpful and pleasant (contrary to a lot of customer service lines)!

Yippee, all my tax stuff (except my W2, goddamnit, work, cough that fucker up already!) is done and with my accountant!

Boooooo, I was barely profitable this year. I knew it was bad but not THAT bad. Amazon selling fees are a killer. Hmph.

I’m impressed. I haven’t received any of my 1099s yet. They always come right at the Jan 31 deadline (or later ).

And he has replied saying he will reimburse me, and given the prices these days maybe he should take down the website since it doesn’t bring him business.

I’ve only gotten my bank’s 1099 - but getting the business income and expense records done was the big hurdle and that is all taken care of, whew!

Update on “Shit I need to get done”;

  1. Cancel Gym membership :heavy_check_mark:
  2. Change name with bank and get new debit card
  3. Set up automatic investing in Vanguard (Withdrawel from bank to settlement account is set up but I need to figure out the part were the money goes from the settlement to the investment account)
  4. Cancel Chase Sapphaire card :heavy_check_mark:
  5. Check status of earning American Airlines CC sign on bonus :heavy_check_mark:

Made it to the gym this afternoon to cancel my membership. I think I’l try giving Vanguard a call this week to figure out why I can’t get my auto investment working and hopefully I can make it to the bank this week as well to change my name.

OK I think I got the answer to my problem with the automatic investing

“You can’t make automatic investments or withdrawals into or out of ETFs.”

I only have ETFs in my account not mutual funds. I’m just shy of $3k so once I reach that limit I’ll transfer my EFTs into Mutual funds and set up the auto investing.

That makes sense. Glad you figured it out.

:white_check_mark: Do annoying overdue writing thing for work before someone notices it’s late

 Clean out that freezer and chuck things we really aren’t going to eat to facilitate eating it down enough to defrost - guess I’d better get on this one!

Checking in late for week 3. I still suck at getting things done.

Finished week 2

:white_check_mark: Finish filing 2019 papers - school and medical - turns out these weren’t the only papers left to deal with, but I did what’s on the list so …
:white_check_mark: Pay state estimated taxes for 2019 (due Jan 15)2. Cancel cable (has been on my todo list for 2 years…)
:white_check_mark: Fix school funding issue :new:
:white_check_mark: Drop off glass and cardboard recycling :new:

The list:

  1. Clothing donations (three separate dropoffs for specific items)
    a. general :ballot_box_with_check: BN clothing swap took care of most of this. Still have a few items I didn’t take to the swap
    b. uniforms
    c. suits :white_check_mark: Thanks to BN clothing swap
  2. Find next cc bonus (maybe CIP?)
  3. Make travel arrangements for Feb trip :white_check_mark:
  4. Prep two rooms of basement for reno (stretch goal: all 3 rooms)
  5. Undo Roth IRA contribution
  6. Find brokerage/bank that can handle my weird rollover needs.
:new: 7. Get the appropriate office to pay my medical bill

In week 3 I went to a clothing swap and bought some plane tickets. Still so much to do, some of which could even be done from the couch, and yet I’ve made little progress.

Adding to the list, I got a medical bill in the mail this week. The bill says it was sent to me because I didn’t have insurance on record. But I spent 15 minutes with them before the appointment going over who was responsible for payment (not me). And of course in my paper sorting/filing/shredding of week 2 I tossed the details from that ordeal. Ugh. I don’t even know who to call to fix it: the provider or the supposed payer?

ETA: ALSO, I just realized I did NOT meet the minimum spend on the card I was working on in December. Of course I paid a bill today that would have been large enough to cover the shortfall If I’d used the right card. But I thought I was done with that one.

Update:

I crossed of the auto invest with vanguard. I will take care of this when I reach the $3k mark. I have atleast set up auto deposit into the settlement account so the money is on it’s way to Vanguard twice a month. I’ll just have to manually invest it a couple times.

Today I am going to stop at the bank and get my name changed. This is long over due (I got married over 3 years ago!) This thread has been super helpful in getting shit done and I hope it continues through out the year.

Did some. Was less to chuck than I thought. On the bright side, a lot of the bulk in there is not actually food but frozen water bottles to increase efficiency and give some protection in power outages. So we’re getting closer than I thought.
