Ok, nothing good to report. As a kind of excuse I have a bad cold, starting 3 days ago. But anyways, I have to start!

I keep forgetting to check in, but last week I finished my studio deep clean! everything has a place! I have way too many supplies that I can’t let go of! but I can see the floor and the surfaces and there is way less dust and cat hair floating around.

nothing else got done, but that’s okay.

Can’t unfortunately make it to the livestream today as am flat-out knacky-pooped (knackered) and heading to sleep.

BUT, wanted to say: Happy Festive Season to all who celebrate…

And for everyone who doesn’t, happy avoiding all the frenzied shopping and enjoy those 1/2 days of quiet before it all kicks off again.

Wherever you are on that scale from celebrating to hibernating; you’ve so got this…

I have been making a gym out of my living room this month for the December challenge (which I am hereby joining fashionably late). Plus having now decided to be a bit festive for the first time in years, I am now also putting up some seasonal decorations. The room might seem eccentric for some, but definitely geting there and pleasing to me. And the new tree adds some magic.

Onwards and upwards, sparkles and joy everyonel!

Week 2 check in:

No progress this week.

I need to gather my evidence of expense, like housing, power bill and such, to finish applications.

I also need to wash stuff to be donated and then start putting things into the car so we can drop it off when we are out. I also need to clean and photograph shoes I want to sell.

Question: what does a person do with old user IDs and passwords attached to old email addresses they no longer have access to due to a move? I can’t access various websites without them generating mail to the old address. I haven’t owned it in 5 years.

Also, what to do when a business refuses to delete your account, citing there’s been no activity on it and therefore no information to be concerned about? They have my email on file.

So far this week…

• more work on user IDs and passwords,
• started the Great Course “How to Look at & Understand Great Art”. Lesson 5.
• on page 145/403 of The Alden Amos Big Book of Handspinning”.

• make progress in garage: clear a substantial amount of floor space (sub-goals: get rid of bed frame, take load of stuff to dump, clear out sunflowers, move rugs/large cloth items on treadmill, take cans to bottle drop, take out glass recycling )
• submission spree (submit to 4 more journals)
• get a will written even if it’s DIY
• finish reading at least one more book (my goal was 20 for the year; I think I’m at 14 or 15 so I’m not making that)
• call internet service provider and ask why our bill is higher/ask for lower rate again <–no luck on that; done
• resolve 2022 tax problem YAY
• clear out email inbox Done! I am the proud owner of 7 new emails rather than 400+.

I have not actually made much progress on any of these things! I also have one to add: locate and eliminate the source of the stench coming from the fridge. I have thrown out old food a bunch of times and still it remains. God help me.

The smell seems to have gone away. Maybe we threw away enough stuff. Or maybe it was an odiferous ghost.

Week 3 Check-in:

go through MacBook Pro and delete duplicate photos.

Transfer old photos to iCloud (right now it isn’t synced to iCloud, to prevent duplication of photos and music there.

sort through all my old user IDs and passwords. Figure out what’s good and what isn’t. Close all accounts I’m no longer using…if possible. I’m having issues with flick’r. I finished the booklets. Currently working through my password app. Over 30 years of passwords to sort through. I finished the “A’s” this morning.

watch the courses I’ve downloaded in the past. Great Courses. Finished watching “Celtic World”. On lecture 10 of “How to Look at & Understand Great Art”. Hoping to finish it by December 31st.

write blog posts for my Ko-fi site.

finish reading “The Big Book of Hand Spinning”! It truly *is* a big book! still on page 145. It’s next up on my list. I find it interesting, but it’s taking a while to absorb all the information.

Oh, god, how is it already Saturday?

• Finish book chapter that’s due January 15th so I have time to actually edit that fucker STILL PARTLY, yet more written, but still not yet done
• Finish poster presentation for conference January 9th DONE and printed!
• Prep either three or four classes, depending on whether that one class makes or not - STILL LOL I’ve thought about them a little bit.
• Go make cookies with my mom one day since her family Christmas isn’t going to happen this year DONE
• Help young friend go do name change paperwork before the new regime sets in - Nothing yet. I wrote to or maybe texted young friend to see if they still need a ride, but no response. I’ll follow up.

1. Complete edit of audit mileage logs and submit all the paper work again to the CRA.
2. Clean up/edit passwords and pw manager
3. Get rid of some unwanted freezer items and return containers to their owner. DONE
4. Take items to donation centre. DONE

Well not much was done in this past week. I did start collecting addresses to for the mileage log so that was a start. However, with Sonos and holidays and FREE TIME I’m excited to get things done! Not that it counts but I was puttering with some work things to get caught up today and it felt so good!

Well, this week was somewhat derailed by tragedy… But! I still got a few small things done that weren’t on my list, and got the porch painting done that I hired out I’ll take it.

Done this week:

• Sand, prime, and paint new front porch posts (and buy remaining supplies needed)
• Bonus: Even more caulking
• Bonus: Put new license plates on car

Done previously:

• Finish removing leaves in backyard
• Finish putting steel wool in old mouse holes
• Measure existing backyard garden beds for planning
• Exterior caulking
• Get gutter installed on new front porch roof

Partially Done:

• Finish digging up rocks and landscape fabric in front yard
• Dig up rocks and landscape fabric in at least 1 backyard garden bed

To Do:

• Attempt to install weatherstripping on small garage door
• Install garage gardening tool rack
• Actually set up the water leak detector sensor I bought ages ago
• Touch up paint in bathroom
• Take photos/videos of inside for insurance
• Clean cold air return vents

I also started to remove one outlet in the office (same breaker as J2s room) realized it was going to be a complicated one, and promptly put it back how it had been.

• paint hall (Dec 14) not done, but i’ve taped everything
• pick up storage unit from ikea (Dec 9) bumped to february so it will be warmer for painting

• email shoe repair place and get quote for fixing birks and blundstones DONE
• drop off donation items (Dec 20) updated, waiting until I do the studio deep clean DONE
