I saw this challenge on the board from last year and was hoping youā€™d do it again and I have been thinking about what I want to do. I will probably add to/edit this but the one big thing I really want to get done is donating or getting rid of the stuff we have piled up to donate or get rid of.

  1. Donate or get rid of the stuff in the to go piles.

  2. Finish applying for medical financial aid at the facilities I go to.

  3. Finish choosing a Medicare plan for next year. (I know Iā€™m late)

checking in a day early (because iā€™m at my desk and making my weekend to do list):

finance/etc:

  • call/email 2-3 notaries and get quotes for will
  • decide what Iā€™m doing with the GIC that is ending in January (end of the month) DONE (transferring to self managed tfsa)

craft/art:

  • deep clean my studio (Dec 20) (not having people over so this can take longer)
  • finalize and send out guild survey (this weekend) DONE
  • start sampling washed fleece
  • pick a quilt pattern
    * finish knitting ā€œfancyā€ sweater to wear for family xmas dinner (Dec 12) DONE just needs blocking
  • maybe sew wool jersey dress, also for xmas dinner (Dec 15)

house stuff:

  • decorate for xmas (Dec 7) DONE
  • Taking the laundry room refresh off the list because apparently Iā€™m doing a hallway refresh (i need to replace a light fixture, so now Iā€™m painting and getting new storage and changing closet doors, obviously)
  • pick a paint colour for laundry room
  • paint laundry room? (highly unlikely to happen this month but I can dream or at least start)
  • change closet doors (Dec 8)
  • paint hall (Dec 14)
  • pick up storage unit from ikea (Dec 9)
  • go test mattresses and maybe buy a new mattress (this weekend, assuming everything is still on sale) NOPE, bought a toaster oven instead, this will happen sometime next year

misc:

  • email shoe repair place and get quote for fixing birks and blundstones
  • drop off donation items (Dec 20) updated, waiting until I do the studio deep clean

edited to add challenges and victories - biggest challenge is going to be those emails for quotes on things. I know itā€™s the responsible way to do things so I can budget for the costs, but my brain very much just goes "i want the thing done, iā€™ll deal with the price laterā€™ once I decide to do something.
victories - making a plan for the hallway refresh that doesnā€™t include paying for new closet doors! I think I can do it all for less than $500. and deciding what to do with that GIC, itā€™s been bugging me all year.
