Harvested my sunchokes/Jerusalem artichokes today! This came from a patch probably a meter square
If anyone in the Portland metro area wants some, now is a great time to plant! Feel free to DM me.

Wow! Impressive!!
My mum and I pulled weeds and planted climbing plants along the driveway. These plants are growing so fast I can watch them!
I also set up a large selfwatering pot with mulch, in-ground worm farms and watermelon seeds. Hoping we get a watermelon over summer!
I would appreciate some perspective. Our backyard garden has some raised beds and some ground beds, but in general feels like it needs 2-4 inches more of soil (let’s assume 18’x20’ ish based on my not having measured). For that amount of dirt, I don’t think we want to buy it and drag it home in our wagon, so it seems to make sense to buy cubic meter/yards.
We do not have a drive way, and our front yard is fenced. The walkway to the backyard is narrowish for a run. Would the delivery people just put it on the road? Does it just come in a big square bag?
I can only speak from what they do here but maybe its the same - yes and yes. Yes you can get it bulk tipped. Or for an additional fee they’ll provide it in FIBCs - 1m3 woven fabric bags. The big bags should be able to be placed where you want them - within in reach of the truck and the HIAB crane thing.
We call them bulkabags - I assume that doesn’t translate?

Here it depends on the company. Most often they’ll deliver to the verge/boulevard or alley-facing drive if a front yard is fenced.
yeah, no verge, no alley drive. The sidewalk is directly against the road, we have less than a foot between the sidewalk and our fence.
@PDM it looks like we can do similar bags, we just don’t really have a place to put them on our property unless they can place it over the fence
Definitely maybe? Those bags are designed to be lifted by a crane:
I’d say contact your local landscaping mob and ask.
I’ve seen pallets full of stuff parked in an on street parking spot too. Hopefully they can work something out for you- Id think this can’t have been the first time they’ve encountered this setup!
I’ve seen that around!
Oh, that’s fabulous. I could do that over winter in my greenhouse (smaller, of course).
That is a lot of cabbage!
Is the inch measurement the width of the bed those plants are planted into?
I’d guess it’s the distance the rows are apart from one another. That fits with the plants listed. There would not be much in the way of walking paths between at the height of the season!
Edit - also adds up to 50 feet if you assume 18 inches at the top and bottom.
Been using our own compost and making new garden beds.
Been flipping beds from Garlic production to new crops with the addition of some cow manure top dressing.
Making mulch from storm damaged trees.
Picking Purple Raspberries.
And a whole bunch of other varieties.
Those are some delicious berries and fine garden beds!
I appreciate this, as I wonder what will survive in my garden as we’re away during a heatwave.
I bought a linktap. Bring on the app based irrigation.
