Beautiful.
A rain lily peaking up through a bunch of blanket flowers that are dying back at the end of their season.
this is a bumble rumble dahlia. i planted it back in late april or early may, and she finally bloomed ![]()
I love her.
me too ![]()
I truly don’t have space for more dahlias but I’m probably going to give some of the normal ones away and buy special ones. I still have probably 75 seeds to start over time too. ![]()
The salvia in my front yard has not yet gotten the hint that summer is over! It’s looking even better than it was a couple weeks ago.
I have very little variety but I’ll take a goofy little bouquet! And the dahlias are still coming in.
This is the first year that I’ve grown perennial Mums. I really don’t like the annual type that you buy in pots this time of year but I like these.
A neighbour’s roses. These had beautiful orange & peach hues mixed with the pink that the camera couldnt capture.

Your dahlia show has been spectacular! thanks
Dahlia question!
I do not have a good place to store my tubers for the winter. I have a a location that is too cold and varies but is probably 10-20 degrees warmer than the outside temperature (unheated warehouse) and a location that is too warm at 57ish. So far I’ve been trying to leave them in the colder area as long as they won’t freeze and bringing them into the warmer area overnight if I’m scared they will freeze. They are in a bin and insulated as well as possible and I have a thermometer in the bin that I check every day.
My actual question is: will the cool, cool, warmer, cool, cool, cool, warmer etc cause any problems? I certainly don’t want them to start sprouting too soon. The last week and the next couple are well below freezing here.
i would probably insulate them by putting the bin in a bigger cardboard box with paper or bubble wrap wadded up between the bin and the box and leave them in the warehouse, checking on them once a week or so, but i’m no expert!
I made a sort of insulated cooler box thingy with spray foam! I’m just not sure how well it will work so I’m going to check it every day while it’s so damn cold.
This is my redneck storage system.
it worked fine last night when it was 16 outside, I will just keep checking it when it’s super cold. Darn princess flowers.
that looks amazing!
having the thermometer in there will really help, too!
please come to my house and build me one ![]()
