I love the orange in that first one. Does it smell good?

The azalea bush I planted last fall is blooming!

It does! So does the purple one. Super sweet, but somehow not cloying.

I swear the purple ones have the best scents.

Yes! This must be fact. Although my favorite variety is orange and smells like a creamsicle. I couldn’t find it on our tour of all the roses in Ladd’s Addition.

I know exactly the variety you mean. It really does smell like a creamsicle.

The coral honeysuckle is finally opening.

Some of the peonies appear to be collapsing under their own weight. Should I be doing something to support them?

You honeysuckle is so pretty. I saw some on my walk today and was wondering it you had flowers yet.

My peonies also flop. I have stakes for some of them.

My peonies also flop. They make circular cages for them, but I think they’re just a pain to use. The best way to keep some from flopping over is to cut big bouquets for the house. Mine are just getting buds, I’ve got at least a 3 week wait yet.

I was thinking about that! I don’t generally like cut flowers but peonies just look incredible in vases. Of course, I have a naughty cat and a toddler, so vases are at great risk in my house.

As long as the peonies aren’t being harmed by flopping over, I don’t mind.
