Finally took a few things to a thrift store. It is the first volley in the struggle to reclaim my life.

Whooohooo!

Finally got the first group of things to donation. It’s a start.

Edit: it said that the previous comment from me didn’t post and I didn’t have time to redo it then. Didn’t see it when I came back. I’m blaming my computer…

Went through all the outter gear today and put two bags of jackets and snowpants aside to give to the local food bank’s winter gear drive. Tonight I need to go through the hats and mitts and do the same.

When I was clearing out Mom’s RV I kept the small coffee table thinking it would work to put my computer printer on under the dinette. It was not a good fit for that. Yesterday a neighbor was looking for a small table, so I gave it to him. Some regret, but it was just a cheap table that I got for free that didn’t work for me. The idea of putting the printer under the dinette is a good idea, just need to find something shorter to use.

Also, while clearing out the outside deck boxes that were Mom’s I found a somewhat nice bedspread. It had been left in the RV when she bought it (like the table above). I brought it in thinking I’d use it as a throw over my couch. Decided after looking at it for awhile that it just needs to be donated. For reference, when I was clearing out Mom’s RV to sell it I stuffed things wherever I could, and the deck boxes had pillows and blankets, the majority of which were left in the RV like the table, so really don’t have any sentimental value. Some I’ll donate, some I put in my storage RV to decide later.

Getting rid of stuff is a long process for me.

Gave away shoes and training undies we didn’t use for Latte. Realized as I packed them up, maybe they wanted our reminding swim diapers- and they do! More odds and ends out the door without additional coordination.

Realized I need a hidden box for donations in my garage and my car to work around the toddler to really super charge my decluttering, that’s been a huge barrier.

Someone on buy nothing took a ton of pillowcases which was wild because I assumed I’d need to throw them out.

Now I have a bunch of top sheets whose bottom sheets shredded. Guess I’ll try those too?

Finally had a mini breakdown to husband and pointed out that while HE can just ignore and become blind to things in corners and on shelves, I cannot, and I see every object equally all the time, and it is overwhelming AF. Got my mom on board in theory for taking Latte for a couple hours at a time at her house so we can work on the house. Dear god please let this not be empty promises and forgotten plans again.

I’ve seen them posted with the tip of using them for painting drop cloths.

I use them for sewing muslins.

I mean I’m using a top sheet as a bottom sheet because the actual fitted sheet got left behind in the move…

I save my crappy old sheets for covering plants when we get frost. But maybe that’s not a thing up north where it stays cold longer?

I just did this tonight! I only thought of it because of this thread, I have at least two flat sheets whose fitted sheets got heels through them

I do this but because it’s easier to change and be smooth than a fitted sheet lol

Husband is returning a portable AC unit to a neighbor, and we’re lending them out learning tower for their younger toddler. To my deep sadness I’ve also listed and have a ton of takers for the 3 section hamper I adore but haven’t used since having a kid- I stopped sorting laundry basically, it’s survival of the fittest now. Also a lightly emotional hamper we bought for Lattes stuff when she was born. So, ā€œonlyā€ 4 items today but they’re all LARGE and some have been years in the making.

Sold a dog harness, that I bought for the ā€˜puppy.’ When we got the harness it was too big, and now it is too small, and in between, I forgot to even get it out. I bought it used for $10 and sold it for the same, so no loss / no gain.

A friend posted a few weeks ago that she is holding a fundraising yard sale for her Girl Guide Trip unit, and said she’d be driving around picking up donations the following weekend. So I told her to stop by, but she forgot. Downside - I had a bag of cap on my porch for two weeks longer than expected before she picked it up. Upside - I added crap to the bag as I was clearing things out, so instead of sending one bag of stuff to her I sent two.

I am down in my winter spot where I have a small shed I will need to sell at the end of the season. I opened it and pulled out an empty box from the top of the pile of stuff and took it over to recycling. It is a start… I also got into the stash of yarn in there and got out the pink yarn that my cousin gave me last year. She is expecting grandbaby #2, and after I started a teal blue blanket because it was a boy, I was informed no, it’s gonna be a girl. I’ll use the yarn baby’s grandmother gave me. That should be at least 4 skeins of yarn used.

Outreach activity supplies sorted, labeled, and ready to go back to work where they’re supposed to live, as opposed to my basement where they’ve been living for the past couple years. There should be a couple tubs of tools and soldering gear too, but I’d already moved them to my trunk before I took the picture and wasn’t about to unload them again.

Cat was mostly annoyed that all of the boxes on the floor had stuff in them and there wasn’t room for him.
