I was not prepared for this! I thought clear plastic storage bins were a great idea for toy overflow, and I was wrong.
Donât worry, even if youâd done non see through at most youâre gaining 6-12 months before they remember and ask for items by name.
Oh, I would love a pair or two if you still have ones to give. And a donation to a food bank is a perfect idea!
This is why I give most of mine away. I knit 12-18 pairs/year. I pick out 1 or 2 to keep and then give the rest out at Christmas. Everyone likes warm socks.
I have a second box full of donations, and the winter coats that didnât sell can be donated too. It kind of hurts to not be able to give those ones to a person. Any person.
I also want to shake my house into a garbage and am severely dreading Christmas. Our kids have everything they will play with. People will see wonderful things that make them excited to give. They will be unlikely to be used.
Anything else is not going to be cherished. G will want to buy anything else. I kind of want to too.
ugh yes. so many crumbs and so much junk
There really should be a Toys for Tots drive AFTER Christmas to distribute new but unwanted toys folks get.
Quick, everyone switch to Hanukkah this year!
I co-opted the home gym for sorting toys and now I have to get it back in shape before we want to work out. I donât wannaaa
I have a couple craft toys Kiddo forgot existed (heâs not a craft kid) that I squirreled away that can go to a new home. Then I forgot they were in there until the other day, I need to not forget about them again when the Toys for Tots stuff starts up.
I like setting phone reminders for this. Then my phone magically pop something up in a month or whatever, and Iâm like oh yeah! Thank you past me!
My initial, gut response was: âChristmas presents!â and what an honor it would be to get a pair of hand knitted socksâŚ
My siblings (at least the knit worthy ones) and mother are all unable to wear wool these days. I hope whatever sensitivity it is skips me, but odds are likely low, and I probably have 5 to 10 years.
Donate them to a charity auction you believe in?
Goodness those socks are beautiful! You are very talented.
a shocking number did not have ends woven in.
Now I need to find which box had the envelopes.
Cleaned out the winter accessories container. 4 items in the trash, 20 items to donate, some with tags. We still have 9 toques between us. Still too many, maybe end of winter I will clear out a few more.
I absolutely treasure the one pair I have that youâve knit
and would love another pair or two if youâre still trying to offload them!
While doing some stuff for car insurance, I cleaned out 2 folders to get about a half inch of space in the filing cabinet. I donât think I need my policies from 2020-2024 for the house or car, and also paper work from an accident for benefits in 2019.
Was able to get insurance reduced since SO isnât driving his car for the winter.
Offloaded a book to another instructor at the Y who was looking for one to take on vacation. I was very clear I did not want it back.
I decluttered a bunch of paper this week too. Cathartic.
