Oh and context for my ā€œI’m getting this foshoā€:

Friend who has Covid and I sat together on this couch for several hours, talking with nice projected voices to the other 3 friends across from us. Tot also sat with me and her on there for an additional 30 min probably.

(Ignore the tot mess around it haha, play zone and I didn’t pick up before the picture)

Some good news on the vaccines!

FWIW, I didn’t get COVID when Wizard had it, despite living in the same 670 sq ft apartment and sleeping in the same bed.

(Of course I instead got it from going to a restaurant? So that was weird and fun.)

DH got it on our honeymoon. I did not. Doesn’t get closer contact than that :joy:

Yeah but I’m worried about all three of us, because I mean obviously having Covid isn’t fun, but also it increases the care burden for me no matter who is sick. So the odds of all three of us not getting it aren’t great. Even if one or two of us are unscathed.

Okay so one other book club member got it for sure, she’d never had it yet though. She’s pretty mild but definitely has symptoms and got a positive home test already. The rest of us are still feeling okay and all have previous infections under our belts :crossed_fingers:

So far negative for me.

ETA oh and luckily one members infection was a month ago, so she should be totally in the clear. The second sick one is a professor :frowning: talk about bad timing! Her classes are all in person this year, too.

I hope you all stay in the clear

Also, I’m busy being annoyed by the one friend who basically told me I’m overreacting by treating it as a close contact because she didn’t have symptoms yet. And I’m like she had symptoms literally literally two hours later, I don’t care if the Oregon health authority doesn’t count that as a close contact, that’s simply not how biology works. I’m not here for a stamp card, I care about my odds of infecting the other neighborhood children and my ill mother. :upside_down_face: and this friend works in a hospital no less.

Scheduled my second booster for next Wednesday! Walgreens is offering updated shots without restrictions if your last booster was 2+ months ago. Go forth!!

I’m not seeing anywhere that it indicates it’s the new strains, am I missing something?

Thanks so much for this heads up.

Got myself an appointment for 2 weeks before my brother’s wedding. Hope it’s going to work!!

EDIT: @Bracken_Joy At least for my location, I had to get through a few screens and enter the date of my last booster before it said it would be the updated Moderna booster. But once I did it was explicit.

The red screenshot I posted says ā€œnew, updatedā€ boosters!

Ahh okay that’s the screen I stalled out on because I need to look in the files to get the date, and I can’t open my files while the tot is… helping.
