I successfully obtained an illicit second booster. It’s not for me, it’s for the baby. I guessed correctly that the mobile clinic people currently parked in the library parking lot would be bored and wanting to post good numbers and wouldn’t ask too many questions.
You are inspiring me to get an illicit booster for my baby!!
My NP was very supportive!
Ever since I got Covid 11 days ago I have been exhausted. My friend that took the trip with me said she tested positive when she got home 6 days ago. She said after 20 minutes of cleaning she needed to rest. She is in excellent condition so this sucks. I am hoping that I don’t have as much fatigue.
Yesterday I was traveling for 26 hours and today I unpacked, opened 2 weeks of mail and showered. My dogs were thrilled to see me yesterday. I felt lucky to get home considering how crazy the Dublin airport was. My flight from Dallas to Reno kept getting pushed out later and I got to ride the skylink 3xs because that’s how much they changed the terminal and gate.
Omg what a mess. I hope you’re feeling better soon!!
Haven’t been on the board in awhile but wanted to report that my 3-year old had his first vaccine! YAY!
The vaccine went way better for him than any test ever has. And it seems to have hurt less for him than his sister.
I have to admit though, it seems that everyone in this area, us included, have gone with “just don’t test, and we will never know”. (If anyone has symptoms, then we would isolate as we would any other cold with symptoms. But I’m not testing asymptomatic people anymore.)
It seems that Iowa is done with caring about covid. And it’s hard to be the only person left who cares, so I’m mostly done with any sort of covid precautions. But the entire family is nearly entirely vaccinated now.
This is Toddler’s Covid test on Day 6. We’re never exiting isolation at this rate
Thank goodness California still has the 2 weeks of supplemental Covid leave because neither Husband nor I are working at the moment. Husband is mostly recovered but I’m 3 days into my bout and am feeling run-down.
As for potty-training, less said about that the better. My floors have never been cleaner with all the Clorox wiping we’re doing, though.
We’re finally all Covid negative!
Toddler: tested negative Day 10 after first positive test. He might have had symptoms a few days before that but I’m not sure (he always has a runny nose). His first positive was a very dark positive. We tested daily from Day 6 on until he was negative
Husband: tested negative Day 8 after first positive test, but did not test between Day 1 and Day 8 so could’ve been negative before then.
Me: tested negative Day 7 after first positive. I also tested yesterday (Day 6) and had a faint positive.
Just got my 4th jab (second booster)! I am glad i was easily able to get an appointment
Possibly somewhat off topic: can someone recommend a good pulse oximeter?
No covid yet but things are getting bad here and I feel like we should have one on hand if/when the covid faerie visits our house. Many that I am seeing on Amazon have poor reviews.
Any non medical grade ones will be pretty much the same. Know how to use it, on your body, BEFORE you get sick. That’s the biggest thing.
I literally just bought one at the grocery store pharmacy. I’d go with one of those over betting on some random company on Amazon.
I got what was available on Amazon for $20 or so and it’s been fine for a year or so now. Brand is Choicemmed, but I bet most would be fine.
Oh, duh, why didn’t I think of that. I can just go to CVS or something like I did for my BP monitor.
Hm, the monitors at CVS cost double or triple what Amazon is charging. Cheapest one was $50. Ouch!
I have found CVS prices are high generally and NOLA CVS in particular about gave me a heart attack on the last business trip I made before in the World Before.
The CVS nearest me is super super shitty too. I was in there to use the atm so I figured couldn’t hurt to look.
I paid $30 at Publix about a month ago if you have one near you.
Nope, but I’ll try the Winn Dixie next time I am there.
