Covid-19 discussion

Okay, what info there is on reimbursement rn:

Aetna (basically says to call the pharmacy benefit number on your card and ask; also says check back for updates): At-Home COVID-19 Self-Test Coverage & FAQs for Members | Aetna

United Healthcare (no upfront cost at Walmart, Sams, RiteAid if you go to the pharmacy and take your card, reimbursement elsewhere through on online or mail-in form) COVID-19 at-home testing coverage | UnitedHealthcare

Anthem (AKA Blue Cross - have to log into their website - and do this first because they are sending tests for free to some people on request - then go to Claims and Payment > Submit a Claim) https://www.anthem.com/coronavirus/blog/prevention-and-getting-care/coverage-over-the-counter-kits/

What others am I missing?

You probably need a receipt to submit a claim? I donā€™t have mine.

The childrenā€™s stepmom came to my work to pick up some rapid tests. (We met in the parking lot as she, too, is protective of the cuckoo egg.) They had given me some, and now that mine have arrived I returned the favor. She has symptoms.

So I texted later to ask the results and she said she saw a very faint line and thought she should test again tomorrow. I pointed out that they are like pregnancy tests and a positive is a positive, but that some people report getting better results from swabbing their throats. She says, ā€œAs much as I would like to deep-throat a q-tip, I think I will stick to the nose.ā€

And I pointed out that ā€œsquintersā€ are a lot more fun when you are trying to get pregnant, got impatient and tested early, than when you are reading a covid test.

Particularly for, oh, I dunno, those of us who are moving cross country in a month and a half and donā€™t have a permanent forwarding address yetā€¦

You can use USPSā€™s move tool to have everything forwarded for a year. Like $1 for Mail, a little extra for packages IIRC. Canā€™t recommend it highly enough. Although they send lots of coupons but like :woman_shrugging:

Thatā€™s just my insurance company - others may have a more modern system!

Iā€™ve gotten a PO box when I didnā€™t have a permanent address but needed a forwarding address, highly recommend. You can apply for a PO box over the internet (I actually did it by phone in 2005)

Agree! I had one in several different states when I lived in shared NPS housing.

Thatā€™s fantastic that one can do this online. I assumed in person would be necessary, for some reason?

How did you get the key?

Three confirmed cases in our 2.5 year oldā€™s daycare class. One of them was informed Monday their test was negative, and then got an email TODAY saying it was positive, so they were in school two or three days just shedding virus :frowning: I guess weā€™ll see what happensā€¦

Well, the toddler room is closed for quarantine until the 32st. Yay work with a toddler at home! Itā€™s gonna be so fun :sob:

I canā€™t tell if that was a typo or an intentional illustration of how time is confusing and fake now

Yes. Just yes.

As a person who has been working from home with a baby and a toddler for the last 2 weeks, Iā€™m so sorry. Itā€™s so hard. My children will probably be ruined by Bluey and Doc McStuffins.
