Oh we’ve had a ton of exposures- poor kid has been tested 8 times. Just with this new variant, and it being a kid instead of a teacher (no masks on 2 year olds at school)…I am not too hopeful.
We can’t get him tested until Monday, because no one will take under 3s, so it has to be the hospital, so he will be out of school until at least Wed it seems. He’s had a cough and runny nose since October, so impossible to tell.

Covid day three review
Do not recommend. It sucks.
It is different from both a cold and the flu. If we didn’t know about it I would compare it more to the flu
Anosmia. 8/10 would be fun for a few hours of we weren’t sick. My cat, my husband’s knee and my husband’s morning breath have different qualities but not smells. My pad Thai I can taste some sweetness. Texture interest. Last night I could taste the sour in Tom yum soup. I could tell it was complex. When I bite into green onion I can feel the gas and almost taste it. I can not taste hot peppers, but my mouth burns and my sinuses do not clear.
Tbh with massive aversions a few days of loss of smell is not awful
If I was this sick and not covid I would be at my doctor’s office getting assessed and the sir mschine so that I would not be in the hospital tomorrow. I’m taking my Ventolin and seeing what happens

Fucking fuckity fuck. My mom, who was at Christmas with my BiL and his parents who have all since tested positive, is sick. 2 negative tests so far, but has sore throat, muscle ache, chills and fatigue. She says she feels like hell. Doc said that she’s definitely got COVID and would pop positive if she tested right now.

My city calculates the Covid results once a week and post them. More than 50% of the tests in the past week positive

Florida reported 77k new cases today. The past week has had enough new cases reported to make up 1.1% of the state population. 1 in every 84 Floridians tested positive this past week.

Mom’s doctor prescribed ivermectin. Can someone point me in the direction of some stuff to show why this is a terrible idea so I can take down all my dad’s arguments for it?
Luckily Mom has actually listened to us and is not taking the antiparasitic, but in order not to stir up a fight with my dad she’s hiding the fact that she isn’t taking it.
