Covid-19 discussion

OK obviously my preference is that you didn’t have such bad side effects, but this is good to know - thanks!

I’m not sure I want to know, but: worse than your second shot?

I’m scared of my booster :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing:

SAME. Husband is convinced we’ll be fine and need to get our boosters on the same day, since it makes sense with the schedule. I’m scared we’ll both feel like shit and we have the most energetic toddler known to mankind and we’ll be fucked :joy::weary::grimacing:

So…I had no reaction at all to either my first or second shot, so I was extremely surprised to have such a strong reaction to the booster! I toughed it out for a couple days, then ended up taking ibuprofen and felt like a new person after that lol

I think I’m going to try to get mine next week because I’ll be on vacation but I don’t wanna feel terrible on vacation!

:grimacing: I would feel the same way as you and really try to stagger the appointments if you can. I had to watch Puglet mostly solo when I got my J&J and it was terrible and he’s not at Latte’s energy level.

My booster gave me less of a reaction than my second shot, although it did seem like the cold I had when I got it lasted for-EVER.

Bodies are weird. I had basically no problem with any of my 3 moderna shots. I wish everyone was as lucky as me.

Moderna for all three…no reaction except a little soreness in my arm for #1, whole body soreness to the point I didn’t move for most of a day for #2, upper body (neck/back/shoulders/arm) soreness for #3 of which I’m on day 2 and while it’s better, I’m still not enjoying it. Glad I’m done, at least for a while.

I would not take that risk with a toddler. Can you call up some sort of backup childcare just in case? Hopefully you dont have too bad a reaction, but it’s better to be prepared.

That’s his argument. His mom will be in town if we need.

Do you have to do covid tests before domestic flights in Canada?

The US does not. Flying is normal, just with a mask. However, even that a lot of people just weren’t. Or had it on, but below their nose. Or even on their chin. Or like my 2-year old, just ate the entire time and didn’t wear it.

(I know Cassie was talking about Ireland, not domestic- I was just wondering what Canada is doing…)

Currently I don’t think so. They’ve discussed it though. Masks required.

I had 3 Pfizers and was sick as a dog for a week after the second and only a little under the weather for 24 hours after my third. After the third I was still able to wrangle my two energetic kids, whereas I was completely laid out by the second. So there’s hope.

Spouse and I both got Pfizer booster on Sunday late afternoon after two moderna doses. I was worried about getting them at the same time with the small child needing care but we both felt fine other than sore arms! First two shots hit me much harder with chills/fever etc.

This is promising :crossed_fingers:

4 or 5 out of every thousand kids in my children’s school system have active cases of covid. Is it just me, or is that a lot? Thank God my kids are getting their second shots in a week. It used to be like 200 cases in the school system but now it’s 449 (out of 92,000 kids).

Our school district is there as well for the 7-day count :frowning: We’re at 1371 cases for the school year, out of 32k students and staff.
